What do you love most about your job?
I love helping people see themselves in a new positive light. I get a warm fuzzy feeling when I can create beautiful images for someone who thought it was not possible to look natural and great or who hated having their photo taken.
It should be a fun experience.
When you look good you feel good, and when you feel good you look even better!
What inspired you to start your own business?
I wanted to help people. People's insecurities to be precise.
Before I opened my business here in Wake Forest, I photographed weddings and corporate events for over 32 years and the single most spoken comment to me was a version of: "I hate t have my photo taken/I take horrible pictures". After a while, I wanted to figure out why. It motivated me to work harder at understanding people, their journey in life, what they are going through... And it came to me while talking to another photographer from Ireland. I know WHY. I understand it and I can share it and teach it!! And we can achieve great results. No, headshots are kind of in-person service. It's nearly impossible to do headshots remotely.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
We clean the studio after each guest comes in, we only do two sessions per day to let the studio "breathe" between sessions, and I always wear a mask or respirator while working.
