Rachel was our wedding photographer, and 100% the best decision we made in planning the wedding. We are completely ecstatic with how the photos turned out, and Rachel was a dream to work with from start to finish. We were looking for someone who could make our awkward selves feel comfortable, make photos that captured the location instead of a trendy look, and someone who was at home in our rustic mountain location. We also needed someone who could wrangle our big, complicated family. And we wanted someone who would capture the candid, joyful moments with as much care as the portraits. In the end, we look great in the portraits too, and I think that speaks volumes for Rachel's skill and ability to make people comfortable. Rachel includes an engagement session in her services, which turned out to be great practice for us and made us so confident day of. She also has a wonderful habit of cheering you on while taking your photo, which makes you feel great!Rachel is also a great communicator, and in my case, was able to glean a whole lot about what I wanted from a whole bunch of me not being sure. Where do I even start with Rachel? My husband and I felt very strongly about finding a photographer that captured the real and raw emotion of our wedding without feeling corny, forced, or staged. As soon as I saw Rachel's portfolio, I knew that she was the one. Everything was seamless with her from first point of communication, guiding us through the planning process, and up through the wedding day. Rachel is professional and organized (which I super appreciate) while also being effortlessly calm, fun, and enthusiastic. It's so apparent that she loves what she does and equally loves the clients that she shoots for...my entire family (a family of photographers, mind you) walked away from the wedding weekend over-the-moon impressed with her. It's hard to explain the emotion that I felt when Rachel sent us our first photo, and then a sneak peak, and then the final package (all in such a timely manner!). She is clearly so thoughtful about the images that she chooses and is a true artist. A perfect example being an incredible photo of my husband and I walking back down the aisle with flower petals thrown in the air. It's a gorgeous photo - but the best part is far in the background, you can see my dad simply gleaming as he watches us walk away. It melted my heart. Jill and I got married back in July at Cannon Beach Oregon. We've been so busy since that we haven't had a chance to tell everyone how pleased we were with Rachel and the time she spent with us on our special day. We found Rachel on Instagram one day and we really liked her pictures and the reviews she had received from other clients.We reached out, Rachel was quick to respond and easy to talk to. We planned a meet and greet at a local coffee shop in Portland. We spent a good hour or so talking and discussing our upcoming day.On the day of our wedding, Rachel was very attentive and spent a great amount if time with Jill and her Bridesmaids as they got ready. The pictures of the ceremony were fantastic and she captured the day perfectly.During the reception, things were a blur but she was great at capturing the moment. She has a great way of catching a great moment but also not getting in the way. Our dog was in the wedding with us, as well as many guests brought theirs. I think Rachel had an entire folder marked "dogs". Jill and I highly recommend you choose Rachel. If you don't, you'd be a fool. We did a family session with Rachel and it was amazing! She was so thoughtful about choosing a beautiful location and being flexible with our complicated schedule. This review is wayyy past due! Rachel was our wedding photographer in April 2018. We had an AMAZING experience with her. She is so fun and easy to work with, she makes you feel comfortable in front of the camera, and the photos were beautiful! She really captured the feeling of the day, with a variety of lovely photos of the venue space and decor, as well as awesome candid photos of our friends and family having fun throughout the night. Rachel is absolutely wonderful!! We drove out to the gorge for some photos on a cold/windy day and she made it so much fun :) Both my fiancé and I are a little camera shy, so she was able to pose us and talk us through the process – which made it so effortless and enjoyable! Rachel is hilarious and so pleasant to be around. She even let us bring our little pup and snapped some precious photos of her! We met with Rachel to take some pictures of our triplets in a local park in Vancouver, WA. I really wanted outdoor pictures, but the day was cold and blustery, and the babies were not very cooperative. Nevertheless, she was able to hold their attention and get amazing shots! Rachel is incredible. We decided to elope at Salt Creek Falls, OR, which is a three-hour drive away from her home base of Portland. We also decided to elope about three weeks before we actually did it - and on Halloween, no less. When I contacted Rachel I expected her to tell me she couldn't do it, because it was so soon, or too far away of a drive - and she responded so enthusiastically that I knew we needed her for our wedding day. She met us at the park mid-day on Halloween, and walked in the half-mile from where we parked our cars to the spot we had chosen along the trail to the foot of the falls. We had a perfect view of the waterfall, it was misting a little, and it was just a little cold. Rachel kept our spirits up with her energy and compassion, and we had a wonderful time as we exchanged vows with the amazing views behind us. She then did a full photo shoot with us in a variety of spots around the top of the falls (we couldn't get to the bottom due to a rock slide, but she was totally down for it if we could have!), and we ended up with the most amazing pictures.The best part was the turnaround. She texted us photos that very afternoon that we could post on social media (how we were telling our friends and family about our surprise wedding), and then sent us all of the photos she took and retouched within a month. I was so happy to have them when we went back East to see our family for the holidays - and I showed them off frequently at family gatherings.I would absolutely recommend Rachel - not only was she responsive and easy to work with, she was conscientious about how to work with people who had never done photo shoots before. She asked if she could pose us, and then checked again if she could touch our hands or arms to reposition us. She is also dynamic and upbeat, and was able to deliver quality photos at a reasonable rate and in a fantastic time frame. Rachel recently did a family photoshoot for us, and we couldn't be happier with the session, and the photos!. We have 5 year old twins, so this was no easy task. She was amazing with the kids, and had some really clever ways to get them to smile/laugh. She got the photos back to us quickly, with an online gallery that was so easy to download.
