What’s the secret to keeping a party dancing all night long?
Preparation and music knowledge is the key to a full dance floor. Understanding the make-up of the crowd is a necessity. A good DJ is able to gauge musical era's and interests based upon the crowd. Motivators such as group dances, special requests, and dedications are a great addition to a dance party.
A packed dance floor is also the result of good time management and event planning. Transitioning between courses, presentations, as well as event traditions and customs can sometimes clear the floor. Understanding how to navigate through the different phases of the event can keep people engaged and bring them back on the dance floor after a course is served or a non-musical event has occurred. We work very closely with venue staff to implement a successful timeline that keeps the party going.
How would you describe your ‘style’?
I am more of your "Classic" style DJ: engaging, motivating and really easy to work with. This is your party. Although I serve as the Master of Ceremonies and play great music, you won't find me on the dance floor "beatboxing" or "rapping" on the wireless mic. If you are looking for a true professional to interact with and engage your guests for a memorable event, I'm the DJ for you.
What do you love most about your job?
I absolutely love that when I go to an event, I am playing great music and being a part of someone's special day. The excitement I see when I play a song that someone loves, or when a husband brings his longtime wife onto the dance floor for their wedding song is why I continue to do this job with a passion. Meeting engaged couples and planning their special day is especially fulfilling. I am being trusted to help deliver the special moments that will last a lifetime.
What inspired you to start your own business?
As a volunteer firefighter and EMS for over 35 years, our Engine Company had many events for the families and community. I decided to start providing music at these events to make it more memorable and fun. I did not know at the time that people would start booking me for private parties and events. My love for service in my community has grown into over 32 years of partying with wonderful clients and guests.
