About
For 42 years, I've worked with children, teens, families, adults, seniors, couples, LBGTQ clients, and military families. I've taught nursery school, kindergarten & first grade (three K-6 teaching credentials-NY, CA, NJ). Honest, open & frequent communications are crucial to all relationships, including therapy.
I give compassionate, supportive, helpful, and direct advice along with books, websites, and homework to speed the therapy process. My goal is to work myself out of a job by empowering clients to develop insight, assertiveness, independence, and awareness to become their own therapist; to follow their dreams and to express their talents, and to find the best mate/partner/spouse for them to have a relationship based on trust, attraction, friendship, fun, shared interests, love, and happiness, and knowing how to communicate through difficulties and challenges.
I was interviewed on Oprah, 60 Minutes, Today Show, GMA, O'Reilly, Canada AM, WSJ, IBD, local and/or national news on ABC, NBC, CBS, NPR, PBS, Fox, CNN & I was the weekly psychotherapist on CW's nationally syndicated morning show, The Daily Buzz. I like to work with motivated clients who seek insight, change, healthy relationships & fulfilling work.
I hosted Ask the Family Therapist @ Universal Orlando on America's Health Network (AHN) associated with Mayo Clinic. I was chosen & vetted by both from 200 applicants in a national search. My media call-in advice shows aired on PBS & NPR affiliates & WDBO Orlando. I'm an expert witness for family law, employment law & personal injury, qualified in 7 states.
I'm the author of "Surviving the Toxic Workplace" published by McGraw Hill. It is available on Amazon, Books-A-Million, Barnes and Noble and as an ebook.
My relationship book for couples is "Great Relationships (TM): Sharing Yourself with Your Partner."
Since I am licensed as a Mental Health Counseling (FL #MH6058) in Florida , I can only take clients from Florida. I do in person office sessions and also teletherapy on Zoom, FaceTime, and Skype. I see clients in the evenings, and on weekends by appointment only. I use Zelle for payments, and clients can mail a money order or cashiers checks. I refrain from being paid by checks, credit and debit cards.
I love doing counseling with individuals, families, and couples, and empowering people to have better and healthier lives and relationships.
