Communication leading up to our event was fantastic, arrived on time and was very flexible and adaptive to our situation. We enjoyed our experience with Polariscope very much and appreciate the hard work and detail put into the day . We will reach out for our future photography needs. More...

Ian was great to work with! He provided a collaborative environment, and an easy-going, fun attitude to get me to emerge out of my shell to be more comfortable in front of the camera.
The quality and composition of his photos are great, and I am very pleased with how they turned out!

Ian went above and beyond for me. Even changing locations and driving an extra 30 minutes just to make me feel more comfortable! He has both grate skills and a kind heart! More...

Our family absolutely loved this family photo shoot! He was so awesome at his job. He was very patient and very thorough(which we very much appreciated). We have been waiting to do photos for over a year and we are glad we found Ian. He came to us and was very flexible with the times and places due to needing a permit for where we were taking pics. Loved his positive attitude, even got dirty for the best pics! He was a vibe to be around. We will use him again in the future for events or more family photos More...
What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret really is having a vision or a story you'd like to tell, try to match that with a location (to a certain extent), plan ahead and scout some locations so that you can understand how the story can fit, and how from a technical standpoint, you can control the light.
That way on the day of the shoot, we're focused on composition, poses, and being creative vs. some of the tactical things that get in the way of creativity.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I really want to understand their goal of the shoot, the story (if they have one, no worries if not), what's the attire they plan to wear, hairstyles, and make up if relevant. Some garments, hair, and make up combinations show up better on camera than others. The goal is to make them look their true, best, authentic selves, within the construct of the vision.
