This is my new go-to BBQ joint. Stopped in on a Fry-day on my way through Front Royal. What a great place. Great food! Great staff. Very friendly and make you feel right at home. Just for "kicks" (pun intended) I grabbed an order of frog legs to nibble on. Yummy! Stopped in again to pick up eats for some friends helping me with my home. Came in with the hubby and kids for the first time all I have to say is this place has it going on!!! The staff is extremely friendly and always happy. The food was amazing!!!!!! And there was so much of it that we each still have another meal to eat. Authentic southern stick to your bones food. We will definitely be back!!! I visited Po Green's last night for dinner. I will preface this with I am not a person that loves BBQ, or maybe I am and I am just crazy picky? I choose this place originally for my boyfriend's birthday and we ended up not going that direction on the day. Last night we headed to Front Royal and I suggested we stop and try this place for his post-birthday celebration. We arrived a little after 7:30. They close at 8p. I didn't realize that at the time. You wouldn't know that either as they were as friendly as if they just opened. Like you just stepped into your best friend, Aunt, Grandma's house, kind of friendly. We told them we had not been there before and asked for suggestions. Of course, it is all good. I ended up choosing the Beef Brisket meal with 2 sides (green beans and coleslaw) with cornbread. My boyfriend (let's just start calling him Matt, he choose the Pork BBQ. We were told they sell out of it daily. Along with mashed potatoes/gravy with coleslaw and the cornbread. First- the cornbread is like crack! I've actually never had crack so maybe I should say it was made in heaven with honey and is Amazeballs!! Next, the brisket was perfection. Did I mention I am a self-declared non-lover of BBQ? I am currently moving my budgeted $$ at the grocery store to just picking up brisket from them weekly. Holy, holy it is amazing. Little crispy edges with melt in your mouth perfection. The slaw is the perfect complement too, a must with their BBQ. Finally, you can't even beat the price and amount of food received. In fact, I ate this just now for "brunch". I normally fast until like 3pm. I was so full last night, but this morning woke up craving it so I had it as a breakfast-lunch combo (brunch). It was just as amazing today. I also rarely write reviews and if I do they are short and sweet- so they deserve the accolades. Head there and get you some! More...

The place is small and the parking limited. It would be easy to drive by this place without stopping, but that would be a mistake because you would miss out on some of the best barbecue you have ever tasted. The staff is friendly and the portions are large. Through those doors you will find the best beef brisket around. The ribs are great and the sides all taste like they are from your grandmother's kitchen. Don't pass on the potato salad or macaroni and cheese. Amazing! Delicious real home cooking! We had a full rack of smoked ribs and pulled chicken. The ribs literally fell off the bone and had a subtle Smokey taste. The pulled chicken was moist and delicious. Both had large serving sizes. For sides we got home made green beans and collards. Both had great flavor - best green beans I've had from a bbq place. We also got mashed potatoes - home made smashed red skin potatoes - and Mac and cheese. Finally, the corn bread - hot, fresh, and moist!The only down side is parking. It was so good. I had the bbq sandwich which does come with some coleslaw but can also get slaw as a side and you will want more. It was moist and so much flavor, touch of sugar. Now the meat was great and they give a generous amount of their tangy slightly sweet sauce and I always need a small amount on the side too. I loved the mashed and gravy and almost got the collards. I should bought everything but I was traveling, lol. There was a parking spot so I was lucky. Plenty of counter space and some tables to eat to to go. Super great people. My wife and I tried this place for the first time and it was amazing. I love about an hour away and I would make the drive again just to eat there. The service was fantastic and everyone was extremely friendly. It was some of the best BBQ that I've ever had. The sides were just as delicious. When I asked the owner if there was any desserts he said that they only have them on the weekend, but that he had something for me. He then proceeded to get me a big slice of his wife's coconut cake and give it to us for free. If you are ever near Front Royal this restaurant is definitely a place that you need to try. More...

Best barbecue I've had in years. My wife and I hired Po' Greens to cater our wedding and served pulled pork and chicken with all the fixings. The food was a hit for our guests and I was pleased with the fair price. We were both excited when we heard they were opening a storefront in Front Royal. There is so much to say about the food here, even the side dishes are distinct. The baked beans are made with peppers that add a bit of kick, the cole slaw is tangy and sweet, and the corn bread is out of this world. It tastes like my grandmother baked it in an iron skillet. The real standout here, though, is the ribs and brisket. The ribs have a smokey flavor and are fall off the bone tender, the brisket is slow cooked to perfection, and the sweet barbecue sauce has a great addition to both.I've never had a bad meal here, from cheese steak to pitmaster box, and I'm looking forward to trying some other seasonal dishes like the crab cakes. I also hear soups and stews are on the way this fall. On top of all that, the owners are always very pleasant and kind. We ordered the ultimate pit master for take out to try a bit of everything. The bbq meat here is extremely tender and flavorful. The portions are more than enough for everyone. Noticed the coconut cake as we were leaving and was given a slice. I thought I'd try a bite when we got home and ended up eating most of it before I started on the bbq. Listen, even if the food wasn't great I'd have probably given 5 stars for just the interaction with the woman who took our order. Such a pleasant interaction! Luckily, the food was also fantastic. My husband and I got the pitmaster and our friends got the brisket meals. The rib meat fell off the bone, the brisket and pork were flavorful and the chicken was moist and delicious. Very hard to find parking! We circled several times, neighbors had no parking signs in their yards, toward the end of our meal employees were moving out of spots much needed by customers. More of a takeaway set up, but very welcoming employees. Great cooking. They are new and still working out some of the kinks but I am sure they will get there. We got there an hour before closing but were warmly greeted and taken care of without being made to feel rushed. What’s your signature dish?
Our Signature items are our hickory smoked meats and our side dishes. Our barbecue is prepared on hickory smoked grills and the sauce for the barbecue is our Signature sauce, prepared in house by Chef Ed (the sauce alone is requested). Our Pulled Barbecue Meats (Pork, Chicken, Brisket), Baby Back Ribs are the most popular meat selections. Seasonally, our Brown Sugar Glazed Ham and Roasted Turkey are also highly requested.
All Sides are prepared in house. The Macaroni & Cheese, Collard Greens, Potato Salad, Green Beans, Baked Beans and Cole Slaw are popular side items. Our Country Style Green Beans are a consistent selection for vegetables and the Green Bean Almandine is always a highlight to the menu.
How do you go about creating the perfect menu for your clients?
We start our menu by ensuring that a salad and bread for the meal is served with all meals. All menus include these items. The client creates their customized menu based on the options we have available per category: Meats, Starches, Vegetables. We give a starting example of the Pulled Pork Option this is 1 *Standard Meat, 1 Side and 1 Vegetable option: Mixed Garden Salad, Pulled Pork (with Side Slaw), Macaroni & Cheese, Country Style Green Beans, Buns). This is a popular selections and our standard starting menu priced at 10.00 per person. Adding additional meats and sides requested determine the final pricing. Our most popular option would be the 2 *Standard Meats, 1 Starch, and 1 Vegetable at 15.00. Barbecue is generally selected as an option and the Cole Slaw is automatically included (you can't have barbecue without it).
*Standard Meats include the non premium items, ie: Brisket, Ribs, Prime Rib, and Non Premium Fish ie: Shrimp.
What do you love most about your job?
There are numerous components that I love about what I do but at the end of the day they all add up to being a part of memorable event and being a great memory of that day. I enjoy how our food compliments the event and the fulfillment guests have from enjoying great food prepared with care. Food can set the mood of an event and we love looking out and seeing the happiness in the room when the bellies are happy. I obtain fulfillment in knowing that we will do our best to ensure a great experience for our client.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have a passion for providing services for others. I also have a passion in encouraging success. My first love is hospitality. I married a great Chef. Together I feel we have the formula to provide great food and hospitality for our clients. Together we lead a team that love what we do. This inspired me to create an opportunity to provide what we have to offer for people. I was truly inspired by knowing we have what it takes through knowledge and experience to provide our services as a successful business.

When we are chosen to provide our services, our clients receive personal attention to their request throughout the planning process. With an established reputation for our food and catering services throughout the area, our clients expect and know they will receive quality food and products to compliment their day. We should be chosen by clients because we do all possible to ensure you go into your event date with total confidence in the food, services and professionalism of your caterer and in working with a coordinator that has made the process as smooth as possible.
