All the 7am classes are wonderful and Kenny Graham's 10am on Sunday mornings are the best. I recommend this studio to anybody who wants to practice yoga that honors the lineage, while simultaneously getting a good physical movement practice in, too.

This was my first time attending a yoga session at Pleasure Point Yoga studio. I did the drop in, which is $15 a session. The studio is quite small, making the sessions very intimate . I went to the Yin session with Kayla Copeland. She had a calming presence. She provided gentle guidance throughout the session. I would certainly come back. More...

Glad I discovered this yoga studio! Enjoying the energetic Saturday morning classes. Small studio so the 10:30 am class is tight, but somehow it still works. I wasn't so sure about the warm room, but it is not hot, so it wasn't a problem. So far I've taken classes from Aimee and Arielle and both were excellent. I've tried a whopping 12 yoga studios since moving to Northern California 4 years ago!  I'm happy to say that Pleasure Point Yoga is now in my top 2 or 3, and certainly my favorite studio so far in Santa Cruz! The Sweaty Flow class on Saturday morning was our 1st experience, and it happened to be on the day of their 5 year anniversary!  The studio owner herself, Aimee, led the 1.5 hour class, and it was a wonderfully uplifting class.  It was a pretty packed class of about 30 people, but the studio is so spacious that it didn't ever feel overcrowded.  The vibe was one of community, genuine friendliness, and openness, which I loved!  I've tried a lot of yoga studios, especially chain-like studios, where it feels generic and uninspiring. My bf and I are looking forward to coming back and trying more classes with other instructors during our trial week ($20 for new students).  Class packages and drop-in rates are reasonable here and not overpriced like many studios I've tried in the Bay Area.I personally love a solid Vinyasa flow or power yoga style class that both challenges me and inspires me, and I got both from Aimee's class.  Her teaching style is soothing yet energizing, well balanced, playful, and you can tell she has a ton of experience because you just feel like you're in good hands whether you're a beginner or advanced yogi.  Thank you for a great class and such a welcoming studio bringing the community together!  It was also great meeting Aimee after the class and getting invited back later that afternoon for their 5 year anniversary celebration! I was so fortunate to join such a wonderful studio while on vacation in Santa Cruz. I was able to attend Thursday and Friday @9am and Saturday @10am and all three classes were unique and honest designs by each instructor; each class had a clear intention and design that came together through the 1.5 hour practice.  I found Michelle's class the most pleasurable, not only physically but also mentally. Her confident but calm voice guided me through a challenging practice that left me tired and invigorated.  After leaving the studio on Thursday, I found myself pondering some of the ideas she suggested during class, and to me that is a good sign of a talented guide for my practice. All three teachers cheerfully greeted me at the door as I entered and made me feel very welcome. The bathrooms were clean, and there are plenty of props (blocks, blankets, straps etc.).  The classes seem to be approachable to people of most skill levels, but Saturday was a bit more challenging and hotter (that is by design and with the intention of the class). If you're in the SC area, I would highly recommend this studio. More...

I had an amazing first experience coming to this studio. I went in on Monday to try a Slow Flow class, because I have been out of practice, and really want to ease back into things and be gentle on my body. Kayla was the instructor, and the first person I met when I walked in and was so warm and welcoming that my nerves about getting back in a class dissipated and I felt at home and relaxed right away. I love the studio and how all of the energy is focused into one class at a time. It really helped me stay centered and grounded within myself because I usually have a hard time staying focused and am distracted easily. Kayla has such a kind and open heart and she made it easier to find my own sacred space and my meditation was easier than I have ever experienced in any other class. I really felt grounded and safe and she worked wonders for my body and spirit, So thankful and I will be coming back! More...

This is my favorite yoga studio in town!  I have tried all of them but the combination of the space, size of the classes, teachers and yogis makes this studio the best for me. The space is warm and welcoming and the teachers are excellent.  I love the sweaty flow on Saturday and Sunday mornings at 10am, the studio is warmed up but not to the point where you are miserable, just enough to get nice and sweaty.  The mixed and yin classes are awesome as well, you can't go wrong with any of the classes.   They have mats you can borrow if you forget yours and a water source to fill up your bottle.  There is a new student special for $20.00.  They also have workshops some Saturday and Sunday's.For the person that gave two stars because of their experience with Rolf's class, that is not the typical experience at this studio, I have never experienced anything like that in the last two years at this studio and must have been a one time thing with his particular class. My favorite classes are Sunday nights with Katie. I feel like it is the best way to start the week. And I found that it has been great in addition to Crossfit. Yin Yoga is a series of long holds in poses. (At least that's how I would define it...) It is so relaxing I feel like I can go to sleep by the time we get to savasana. 10am Sat sweaty yoga class is NO JOKE!  but awesome!I came here while visiting the area and found that of the 3 studios I've tried in the Santa Cruz/Aptos area, this one is now my favorite.  I loved that Sat. 10am Sweaty Yoga class - it will definitely make you SWEAT!  The class is definitely challenging without a lot of down time - Brent (?) the instructor keeps you moving!  The studio is large, there were probably about 35of us in there but it felt spacious.  I loved the dark wood flooring and the large frosted windows that let in light but don't allow you to see out or in. They kept the room temp at around 80 degrees.  Lots of blankets, free mats to borrow (but they smell awful, to be expected), and the soundtrack was your typical yoga downtempo/trip hop/Indian flavor background music. The savasana was not as long as I might have liked.  Bring a COUPLE of towels, or your own Yogitoes mat to sop up all that sweat!  But you'll feel great.  Oh - the best part?  A drop-in class was just $15.  Perfect! After a painful back injury that looked like it was going to require surgery, i decided to practice regularly for six mths as a way to recover & avoid the knife. It worked. The instructors / owners (Aimmee & Amy) took  time with me so i could become comfortable with yoga again, suggesting pose modifications to keep my back safe and get me healthy. Thanks to the help of Pleasure Point Yoga  i'm back surfing, skiing and mtn biking without pain. Now I have incorporated yoga into my weekly routine. New to yoga? Go here. Not-so-new to yoga? Go here. This is a great studio, totally unpretentious, with really patient, skilled, friendly teachers. It's a very welcoming group--whether you're someone who goes every day, or it's your first visit, everybody is treated the same and you're made to feel like part of the community. I really love that aspect, and you can tell the instructors genuinely love what they do. There is a range of class styles and times throughout the week, which allows me to mix things up and keeps me from getting too comfortable in any one set routine. I also love the space itself, which is somehow expansive and cozy at the same time (plenty of floor to spread out on, but not so much it feels vast). The ceiling is vaulted and I love staring off into into the spaciousness when we're on our backs. Overall, great place to relax, unwind, reload. I highly recommend it! More...
