I was passing through town on a road trip, and realized I was almost out of my dog's medication. I was able to get an appointment to be seen, and had a wonderful experience from front desk all the way through to the appointment and checkout. The staff contacted my regular vet back home to obtain my pet's records, and refilled the medication for us during his exam. The techs were great with him (he's a baby about having his nails trimmed), and the doctor was informative and efficient. I only wish I were better with names so I could give them all a proper shout out! Thanks so much, Pleasant Hills team! More...

I love this place because they're honest. I asked about a dental cleaning for my dog, and instead of taking advantage of me and immediately pursuing the dental, they were honest and told me my dog really didn't need one yet. I really appreciated that!

I cannot say enough good things about Pleasant Hills Pet Hospital. From when I first call and Tina or Ms Karen (or another front office personnel), they are so polite and concerned about what is going on with my two English Bulldogs, Sophia and Cheyenne! It is so comforting going there, Tina is amazing, as well as the rest of the staff! Dr. Mihalik has been my girls (Sophia and Cheyenne, and my BELLA who passed away December 5, 2013 ) veterinarian and she is also amazing. She has a way with the dogs that keeps them pretty calm under the situation of getting shots, etc. Some reviews say they are expensive, they offer every shot and heart guard, flea and tick meds, but you do not have to get them if you choose not to. For the service we get from the front office all the way to the vet and back out front paying is extraordinary! Thank you again Tina, Dr. Mihalik and staff for all you do ♥️ More...

Thank you Dr. Daniel Jones and staff for your utmost compassion and professionalism, as we had to say goodbye to our cat, Mr. Franco Majestic. The vet we went to was in Monroeville, which was too far for us to drive, especially when making such a difficult choice. We had never been to the Pleasant Hills Pet Hospital, even though we are from the South Hills. They treated us as though they knew us, from the first phone call to the visit, and then after Franco departed this world. We were treated like friends, and Franco was treated as though he had been seen by Dr. Jones forever. They have a special room in which you can take your time to say goodbye. The vet tech that took us into the room evaluated Franco and his cancer condition, explained everything in compassionate detail, gave us options on how we wanted to say goodbye, and allowed us to pay in the room so that we did not have to go back to the waiting area in our saddened condition. There was helpful literature offered on how other pets grieve and how to assist them in the process. Dr. Jones then came in and took his time with us, reassured us that the decision we were making was wise, and then went over the process of Franco's passing. He was very nice with us and with Franco as he departed. They provided a blanket for us to take Franco to his final resting place in, and permitted us to leave an alternate exit so that we would leave with whatever dignity we had left. I have had to say goodbye like this several times to creatures I have so dearly loved, and I was by far the most comforted here. I will be sure to recommend your establishment to everyone that I know. You are a compliment to your profession, for sure. Thanks so much, Dennis and Melissa Jones. (We are no relation to Dr. Daniel Jones, however upon leaning of his name in the room, it admittedly brought me a small amount of additional comfort.) More...

I had to put my beautiful Golden Retriever, Sadie, to rest on June 13th. Doctor Jones and staff were wonderful. Little did I know, that I would be doing the same, for my Yorkie, Bailey on Aug. 1st. Dr. Jones was there for me again. Now, I have a new puppy Isabella, and she is helping to heal my heart. Dr. Jones is taking care to keep her healthy. I had to take Isabella today and saw Dr. Snyder, she was great also. I am a new client and feel very confident going here. God bless you all. More...

This review was written by my sister, Deborah Khuri: Words are inadequate to convey the depth of my gratitude to Dr. Sean Kelly. He has earned my profound respect for his expertise in the field of veterinary medicine, for the unparalleled level of conscientious and thorough care with which he treated my beloved dog, and for the patience, kindness and compassion which he consistently extended to me. I honor him for his unwavering commitment to improving the quality of life of our four-footed family members. With each of my (frequent) visits to his office, I always felt that Dr. Kelly treated Patches as if he were his own dog. To Dr. Kelly and to his extraordinarily efficient and empathetic staff: Thank you from the bottom of my heart. May "the blessing of the Lord be upon you" all the days of your life. The Pleasant Hills Pet Hospital staff were so kind, encouraging and comforting to me when I had to sadly put my pet down. I had never been there before, but when they saw I was distraught, they immediately took me to a private room and gave me all the time I needed . They then let me slip out the side door so that I could grieve in private. I really appreciate the sympathy card they sent out as well. Amazing service, thank you and may God bless. More...

Fear-Free Visit a Success! We are clients of Pleasant Hills Pet Hospital for over 15 years. Our Jindo dog, Suki (3 years old), was rescued from a South Korean dog meat farm last year. She is extremely anxious and fearful of people and new situations, so we chose the “fear-free” exam team for her visits. Rachel and Angi combined Suki’s favorite treats, pheromone calming scent, gentle touch and sound, all on a soft blanket on the floor. Accompanied by our other dog, who is also a calming influence on Suki, they were able to not only administer vaccination but draw blood with no fussing or agitation. I honestly didn’t think we would be able to get Suki to relax enough to do this. We highly recommend this process for pets with anxiety, behavior and special needs issues. More...

They do not arbitrarily treat your animal without your prior approval. I’ve gone to ma y vets and so far these will be my regular vet from now on. Pleasant Hills came through for me when my cat had an emergency a couple of years ago. My regular vet couldn’t fit me in and it had to be an emergency appointment if I made it there so I called Pleasant Hills and even being a new client they still made time to schedule me an appointment that day. .. My cat is 15 years old and let’s just say she’s used up most of her nine lives. She was acting extremely lethargic and she stopped eating and drinking.. and then she woke up with diarrhea. All that I kept thinking was she was dying. I called Pleasant Hills and again they saw me the same day.. her initial blood work came back great every count was exactly where it should be. The next day the pancreatitis test came back positive so they added prednisone to her medications. Now the emergency visit a couple of years ago was because my cat broke her jaw. She will not let anyone touch her mouth. Getting the two medicines she was prescribed were in almost impossible to get in her. Pleasant Hills offered to show me a way to get it in. I brought her in and they walked me step by step on how to administer the medicine. I couldn’t be happier for them going above and beyond helping my beloved Peach. They are extremely friendly (my last vets always seemed miserable and yelled a lot) I like to think that Peach is more then a client to Pleasant Hills.. they made us feel like family. I highly recommend this vet. Thank you Pleasant Hills for going that extra step to help me help my best friend. More...

Fear-free visit success!! Our sweet 5 year old kitty Pfeiffer just had his first happy vet check up ever! Annual check ups were always a terrible thing for us to go through. Pfeiffer has very high anxeity and is terrified of strangers. With the help of Rachel and Angie, we started working on ways to lessen his fear and hopefully make a vet visit something to look forward too. Today's visit with Dr Leidy was hands down the best visit we have ever had. With a little bit of medication, lots of special extras and tons of treats he was able to get a full physical exam for the first time. The amount of extra time and care they took with him is simply amazing! We are so glad we finally found an office who cares about our sweet boy as much as we do! More...

This is a great vet. Just brought my new puppy here and my two year old still goes here as well. Decided to give them 4/5 because the staff in the front needs to be more diligent in assisting customer. Twice I've been there juggling a fur kid whilst having to carry paperwork, medicine, lab samples and it's like they just stare at you struggling in the door. Smiles and small talk isn't enough to get you by in customer service anymore. More...
