Think you know BBQ? Think again. This is better than I’ve ever had, anywhere. Completely worth stopping at The Pickle Jar to eat. ..and by the way, I’m not the only one who knows it; every table was filled with friendly patrons—it felt like home. (It’s a small, cozy place...we didn’t want to leave!) More...

We tried Pickle Jar for the first time today and I can see what the fuss is all about! The brisket was some of the best of my life, the homemade sauces were to die for and John was friendly and helpful. Support local businesses!

Small but cute and cozy. Had the tacos today, one of each. I would say the pork was my favorite followed by the guacamole. Lemonade was a great mix of sweet and tart. Tomato bisque was too die for! Highly recommend! More...

Cozy spot with high quality, pastured/grass-fed meat dishes, that are very delicious. If it's your first time in I recommend going with their pulled pork sandwich. I like that they serve both breakfast and lunch/dinner menu items during all open hours. They have a couple of vegetarian options as well such as the omelette where they allow you to pick from a list of about 10 ingredients. And they have a few veggie options to choose from as well, so it's easy to create a full meal here. This morning I had a red pepper, sausage and cheddar omelette, a side of bacon, a salad, a coffee, and homemade blueberry pie to take home (and it wasn't loaded with added sugar!). I ended up eating the entire piece of pie before I left though. The owners are very easy-going, and they create some of the best BBQ in the Madison area. The place isn't huge, but they have about 7 tables, and the food comes out fairly quick. Pickle Jar is easily one of my new favorite quick breakfast/lunch spots in Madison. More...

Just had my first dining experience at the Pickle Jar. It was delicious and the venue and staff are so inviting. I had biscuits and gravy, scrambled eggs and the sweet potato hash. Everything was delicious and I love that they only use high quality products! I highly recommend them, I’ll be back! More...

I really enjoyed my food here. Definitely try the local hot sauces as well. I got the smoked chicken and collard greens and both were excellent. The only negative I would say is that my friend got a side of coleslaw and while it was excellent on the sandwich, it was somewhat bland as a full side item. More...
