What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Getting to know the client, with special emphasis on what image he/she is attempting to portray. We don't hesitate to counsel clients that their image may be too exotic, although beautiful, for their purposes. When the client does not get what he/she needs, it is our fault, not theirs. Therefore, reshoots are an important part of how and what we do.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
It's quite simple--When do you need the image? How do you want the images provided--prints, online, digitally on a thumb drive or DVD? Why do you want the event or portrait captured photographically--what's your goal, your need, your expectation?
What do you love most about your job?
Showing those people who think they're not photogenic that they are indeed photogenic. All humans are born with an inner beauty--it's our job as photographers to bring that out.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Freedom, pure and simple. I love working on what I want. I love working when I want. Most of all, I love working with something I love--capturing the beauty of a moment, a moment of time, a moment of emotion, a moment of celebration.
Why should our clients choose you?
I'm not sure they should. Each photographer has his/her own style. My style may not be your style. Each photographer works for different amounts of money--I'm not the cheapest, and often expensive compared to many others, but I always meet the client's fiscal needs, If they can not afford Photos At Your Place, I have several excellent colleagues in the photography business who charge less.
