I have booked several sessions with Melissa: First, my wedding - the pictures were to die for! I am still so in love with the pictures as they are ALL over my house. Second, I booked newborn pictures for my boy/girl twins - She was soooooo patient with them to get the best shots possible and believe me it took a LONG time and every second was worth it :) I still have people tell me that these pictures need to be in baby stores or on the pampers boxes! And my most recent shoot was for my twins at 6 months and total shocker here… they are PERFECT. MJ does some amazing work!! She was the photographer at my wedding this past September. She is very professional & does pretty amazing work. MJ does a great job of not only capturing those special "posed" moments but there are so many candid shots that I absoluely love!!! It's funny how fast time goes with a little one! I'm so blessed to have worked with Photography by mj, LLC to document our first year! I truly wish there was a "Toddler Plan" because her work is absolutely remarkable! From maternity photos the whole way through her 1 year cake smash, I couldn't have asked for a better woman to work with. The quality of her work is AMAZING not to mention her attention to detail and truly understanding her clients. From the first time I met Melissa, she not only understood my style, but she made me and my daughter feel as though we were the most important people every time we visited. My husband and I had MJ capture newborn pics of our little one. I cannot tell you how THRILLED we are with our photos! Also, we were so impressed with her professionalism of handling our infant son. She used heaters and gloves and expertly maneuvered him into the perfect sleepy positions. I am using her photos for our announcements and Christmas cards and have already purchased a one year session with her. We almost didn't do photos because of how crazy it is when you first come home from the hospital, but it was one of the best decisions we made and we will cherish our photos forever. I can't stress enough how talented MJ is; she really does have a great eye for photography! I have admired her work for years! 2017 is a big year for my family; my husband and I both turned 50, my mom turns 75, dad turns 80, youngest son 14 and started HS, middle son turned sweet 16, and oldest son turns 20 and came to visit from being stationed across the country. Whew! So my husband and I wanted this year captured in time. MJ did not disappoint!! From the very beginning, she worked patiently with us trying to decide exactly what we wanted. She even gave us great advice on what to wear! During our photo session, she was funny, and very personable. Even had my 3 boys relaxed and smiling and that's not easy to do! We booked MJ as our wedding photographer as soon as we got engaged, even before we had a venue or date! She worked / waited with us for 2 years for our fancy backyard wedding! It is definitely an investment, but the photos are absolutely amazing. She is so professional and a true, natural artist. There are images she captured that completely take my breath away. It was all so tasteful, beautiful and brings so much joy to everyone who sees these photos. To get Cora to get pictures taken, you have to 'get' her. I have always said that. Our 1st shoot with MJ was great....but this one. ....was perfect. When MJ was done every word she said to me about Cora lead me to believe that she had made a connection with Cora and I knew then that the pictures would be amazing. anyone can take pictures.....but when a 'connection' is made.....you can edit that or photoshop that.
MJ specializes in Maternity and infants.....oh how I wish 14 years ago infant photography was what it is like now. Thank you Photography by mj, LLC for these amazing photos....but more importantly for 'getting' my kid. xoxo More...

Melissa is an amazing photographer. Although dogs are not normally on her agenda, she granted me an amazing opportunity to have pictures with my fur baby Seren. I knew my baby girl wasn't doing well, and I would not have her for long. I met with Melissa and all 3 of us had so much fun, it was one of Seren's last really good days. MJ is the ONLY photographer I would trust with my newborn baby! Her work is art, the difference in quality is immediately apparent. She also knows how to safely take newborn photos. She handled my baby with such care! I was post c-section and in a lot of pain. MJ had all of the props ready, completed the wardrobe changes, even helped change her diaper and lulled her back to sleep! The only thing you need for a newborn photography session is a newborn!! During our last family session I was amazed that MJ got some smiles out of our 3.5 year old and 10 month old baby. A piece of advice; when you find a photographer who is as passionate and excited about their work as MJ is, you keep them. Anyone can hold a camera and take pictures, but when you are searching for someone to capture the moments that you proudly display for years to come, you want someone that gets excited about learning new editing techniques and takes the time to make the perfect backdrop for your photos; you want the photographer that spends time shopping for cute gowns and has a room full of props, you want the photographer that isn't afraid to run into the street during the split second traffic slows down to get an awesome back drop to your photos.It has been great working with mj and I truly hope this wasn't the last time but if it was, I am so happy I found her when I did.
