I often ask for feedback on who they believe their target audience is, so that I can best understand them and the project needs. Sometimes I'll ask for examples of imagery they like, to get a visual feel for what they're hoping to achieve when they hire me.

Lots of research, organization and preparation, list making, brainstorming ideas and then sometimes good old trial and error!

Many of my clients choose to give me creative freedom when it comes to what I create, but for those who have specific ideas I am always open to receiving any specific requirements before I get started.

Also, always need to know intended use for the images so that I can keep that in mind while photographing and creating. This ensures imagery is created specific to the end use and sized appropriately upon delivery.

The ever-changing, never the same aspect for sure! I like that every week I am working on something new. I also really enjoy that I am able to work from home most of the time. As a mom it has been so important to also be available for my children, especially while they are young. Also, flexibility! I can often work at weird hours if I need to in order to complete projects, though I try to maintain the normal 9-5 as much as possible to allow for that dedicated family time.

I have always had the "entrepreneurial spirit" as they say. I have been self-employed for the last 8 years and now I wouldn't have it any other way!
