Signed up my 2 kids about a month and a half ago. They love it here and look forward to going to as many classes as they can. The dojo is conviently located, the instructors are beyond amazing. You can't ask for a better group of people to teach you how to defend yourself. It's a clean place, well run, with compassionate instructors. If you are apprehensive about doing a certain move they will stop, talk with you first and encourage you to face your fears and work through it. My son and I both attend this dojo. I've learned things about myself that I never knew! Also, this is not a "churning out belts" kind of dojo. You get what you earn! I find that so refreshing in this day in age where everyone gets a trophy! Come on down and check it out! You won't be disappointed! More...

In concurrence with the other reviews, I can only say good things about Phoenix Martial Arts! Aside from being an immaculate Dojo with top notch instructors, there are some factors which set this school aside from most. They teach in a traditional style where you truly earn your rank & therefore learn more than if it were handed or “sold” to you, & their focus is tailored to the individual. Furthermore, the lineage is direct to the source of the system. The head instructor studies under Soke Nancy Cerio who was involved with studying, forming & redefining this style of Kenpo - one of the most diverse & effective martial arts available. This brings the student very close to the roots of the craft. To the devoted pupil this will be more of a family than a school… Namaste! More...

My friend and I attended the women's self defense class 8/23. Fantastic class. Clean facility and amazing instructors. Loved the self defense class. Extremely informative and conducted in an atmosphere where everyone felt comfortable practicing the moves with one on one instruction. Great dojo and it is very close to my house , so I can walk or ride my bike to it. Sensi Gary and Sheehan Cris are both amazing people, they make it fun to learn how to defend myself

I was asked to take a self defense class here with a friend. Having been approached in a parking lot in the past, I was extremely interested, but often being an introvert I was not sure. Well I went for it, and was so glad I did. Chris made the class fun and comfortable even though we were learning some pretty serious stuff! I can not express enough how great Phoenix martial arts really is!!! I signed up my son 3 weeks ago. He loves it so much and looks forward to karate days! He comes home and practices it at home and talks about it all the time. I tell everyone how great they are .... and so does he! they make you feel so comfortable! My son loves it.
