Pawsitive Pup Training

I moved from a large house to a very small pet friendly apartment. At one time my dogs had the run of a huge property. After moving my dogs barked to the point where we received multiple complaints from other residents, and they were VERY aggressive with other dogs. I could not sit on my front porch with them because they would nearly jump the fence to attack passerbys; both people and animals. I called Lainie and she worked miracles! She taught me how to safely and positively desensitize my dog to others while becomming comfortable with apartment life. I can now utilize my porch and control my dogs with a simple voice click. Lanie worked with "Layla", the Boxer/Pitt foster dog we fostered for "Pets For Vets". She volinteered her time 2-3 days/week- for 6 weeks. - with Layla, getting her trained for her new job... a companion dog for a veteran:) Lanie even went the "extra mile" and kept Layla ar her home for a couple days for intense training to correct a particular issue I was dealing with. Pawsitive Pup Training was the only business in Wilmington we could find that uses counter conditioning / positive reinforcement methods. Having a brachycephalic breed, we were not comfortable using a choke collar, or some of the other harsh methods we saw, to "train" our dog. Our French Bulldog was very leash reactive, especially when cars drove by, but Lainie taught us some counter conditioning methods and we have seen a lot of improvement in a short time. She was very knowledgeable, patient and understanding. If you're looking to actually teach your dog and not just break it's spirit until it submits, I highly recommend Pawsitive Pup Training. Lainie has been helping us with our new rescue Cassie, a very fearful and submissive dog who is scared of a lot of things. After first using another trainer in town, I realized that my 1 year old French bulldog who suffered from fear of people/anxiety needed more than just "discipline".  I contacted Lainie from Pawsitive Pup Training who was extremely responsive and after our first session knew that she was going to have a positive impact on my pet and I.  I have used her for 4 sessions now, and the sessions are showing both of us that the counter conditioning methods are working! Lainie is extremely educated on her methods and will teach the owner how to maintain the methods between sessions.  I have learned so much, and my pet absolutely adores Lainie-  from a dog who lunges at strangers, he now pouts in the driveway when she leaves and is turning into a very affectionate dog.
