My experience with the OPaL team was outstanding from start to finish. They adhere to the highest professional standards in the industry and build unique stylish homes with a focus on quality construction and well thought out design. Their approach to the sales side is friendly and welcoming without ever being pushy. We asked to see our home multiple times before moving forward with an offer and each time the OPaL representative graciously accommodated our request. The sales team was pro-active in answering our multiple questions about building materials and other construction fine points. On the build side, the team is first-rate and bends over backward to please the customer in way that is rare for the housing or really any business. The attention to detail and ensuring that the purchaser is fully informed about every nook and cranny of the home is impressive. Even post-purchase, OPaL stays engaged and is extremely responsive to requests to make adjustments and repair items that may have gone unnoticed in the final walk through. The company takes deep pride in their product and that shows in their customer service. We really couldn't be more pleased with our OpaL home, which is a tribute to the professionalism of the OpaL team, and look forward to enjoying it in the future as much as we do now. More...

Opal totally transformed my old fashioned/outdated childhood home in Brookland, DC into a sleek, modern sanctuary. My project involved some redesign work and an interior gut remodel of the first and second levels, including the kitchen, two existing baths and one new bath, all systems (electric/HVAC/plumbing), hardwood floors and two exterior doors. The entire Opal team was very professional, knowledgeable, resourceful and an overall pleasure to work with. From the moment I met Sean and Jason, I knew I’d found the right team to assist me with my project. They gave me a sense of hope when I was teetering on hopelessness, having inherited my mom’s home that didn’t fit my lifestyle. They offered great initial ideas and even connected me with financing resources for my project. Ken totally held my hand through the process, which I needed, and his sage advice helped me prioritize my wants vs needs, while staying within my budget. Rick skillfully managed quality assurance to my satisfaction and kept everything on schedule, while sharing fun stories. Even several months after completion, the Opal team has remained responsive. OPaL has done an excellent job in refurbishing and updating my 1920s vintage home in Mount Pleasant. While the previous owners had done a wholesale renovation some 15 years ago, it was done poorly and their sloppy work was starting to cause problems. The team from OPaL helped me figure out what needed to be fixed and then set about executing a complex series of changes -- new roof, new air conditioning, new deck, new bathrooms. Each step involved dealing with multiple workers and the OpAL team did a superb job of listening to what I wanted, finding a design that was right, stepping through the process methodically and keeping me informed along the way. In such renovations, things never go as expected and together we adjusted the plans as we went without hassle and without extra cost. It all looks great and functions well!! And the workers arrived when scheduled, took great care in their work, cleaned up every day and made sure things were right. In a few words -- high quality, timely, flexible and responsive. I couldn't be happier with my OPaL home. When I was looking to buy, the development I was interested in was far from even breaking ground but Sean took me to a home they'd recently finished as an example. I'm the daughter of a realter and have learned what quality construction and customer service is and bought my home site unseen based on that example. I'm sad to think of moving in the near future but needs may force this. Thankfully, there's a new convenient OPaL community in development that could be my next home! More...
