First let me say that choosing a DJ for our wedding was very stressful! The idea of choosing without having personally attended an event done by our DJ (destination wedding) was something that took me a while to come to terms with. That said, Donovan was great to work with. He answered my long questionnaire without complaint and was always a phone call/text/e-mail away. I was planning my wedding from New York, so knowing that he was responsive put me at ease. His website for music selection was impressive and fun to use and he stuck to our selections. We opted for the package that included a photobooth. We were very happy with the booth, photo quality and staff. We also opted for a slideshow to continuously play during our reception, and Donovan made that happen. All we had to do was provide the photos. Donovan was our DJ for our wedding on July 23, 2018. We booked him online, had never met him, and had only received good referrals for him. We planned a destination wedding in New Orleans, at the historical Tableau restaurant in the French Quarter. This required good communication and trust from abroad. Donovan used our song suggestions to curate an exceptional playlist on his own. Our guests were thrilled with the music, and we danced the night away until the lights were turned on. ATTENTION FUTURE BRIDES AND PARTY GOERS: Hire Donovan as your DJ!!! You won't regret it! Out of all of my wedding vendors, he was the fastest to respond to any questions that I had, whether it be via email, Facebook messenger, etc. I am an extremely detail oriented person. So I created a list of all of the songs I wanted him to play (by the hour lol) and he played all of them. But what I loved is that he actually mixed the songs, not just played them back to back. The lighting set up was such a great addition too. It really helped with setting the vibes for the reception. Everyone had such a fun time dancing and my guest danced the majority of the time. Another bonus is that I got the photo booth with my wedding package. I LOVE photo booths at weddings. They help break the ice in the beginning when people are just standing around wondering what to do. I also received a USB of all the photos in the photo booth. So, a few weeks after my wedding, I went through all of the pictures of my guest and was dying laughing looking through all of them. Another thing to note... I am a lover of rap music. And not just the generic, mainstream rap music, I am talking ALL rap music. So at the tail end of the reception, when all of the champagne that was being handed to me started to effect me, I'm pretty sure I was requesting songs with some heinously offensive lyrics in them lol. Not sure if he ran out of time or if he was trying to save me from drunken self but I don't recall them being played. Either way, I'm glad they weren't played because I'm pretty sure some of the older guest may have been offended! Donovan is a true professional! He made things so easy. I didn’t submit my requests until like four days before the wedding and he still made everything workout. I messaged him a lot the last two days before the wedding with a TON of last minute requests and changes and he didn’t miss a beat! Not to mention the photobooth and lighting were a huge hit. Donovan was amazing! A true professional! He helped to make our wedding an unforgettable experience. He was able to incorporate music that would have otherwise been hard to find into our wedding reception and kept our guests enjoying themselves all night! The photobooth was also a great hit! DJ Donavan was wonderful. The music and lights made my dance floor the most popular location for my wedding. I have never seen or been to a wedding where there was always people on the dance floor. Everyone said it was the best wedding they had ever been to. He really knew how to read the room and made the music really match the mood. We also did a photo booth rental with the company, it was a last minute addition and I am happy I decided to add it. I can't say enough good things about the amazing job that Donovan did. He was very easy to work with and had no issue with specific types of music we wanted and some we did not want at all. Once we let him know what type of feel we were going for, he understood and made it happen. Although we had certain songs we wanted, we also gave him control to change the music up depending upon the audience vibe and he did a wonderful job!
