What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
The secret to taking a great photograph is taking it when no one is expecting it. You capture the best memories "in between the photos". It sounds silly, but the moment when no one thinks anyone is looking is typically the most authentic. Keeping the situation relaxed and snapping a picture when the opportunity presents itself is the best way to capture the best memories.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I want to get to know my clients wants and needs before a session. Every client receives a questionnaire to complete with a list of questions arraying from what drew you to my work, to what is your budget, to what are your expectations with the session, and are there any must haves.
What do you love most about your job?
I love being able to freeze time. Snapping a photo in a moment that someone will remember forever is one of the most satisfying feelings I have ever experienced. I love going back and looking at old pictures of my own, so I love that photographs that I take for my clients are photographs they will love to look back on in the future.
What inspired you to start your own business?
Working for myself has always been a dream of mine and to make it a reality was great. The funny thing is, I'm not working for myself. I am working for my clients and being able to be flexible and work things to my clients needs is SO important to me.
Why should our clients choose you?
I want clients to choose me because I am a good fit for them. I am truly understanding of the fact that not every personality is going to mesh, that I may not be the best photographer to meet the clients needs, HOWEVER, to be given an opportunity to earn the business is something I will always be grateful for.
Can you provide your services online or remotely? If so, please add details.
Galleries are delivered online with the option to make purchases from my lab directly online. For the sessions, it cannot be done online or remotely, it must be in person. I will travel, but travel fees would be added onto session fees.
What changes have you made to keep your customers safe from Covid-19?
I used to be hands on when it came to posing to put the clients exactly how I wanted them posed. Since COVID-19 I have moved to using other photographs for posing examples and guiding by showing posing myself, or directing with verbal cues. If clients are high risk and I am informed, I will wear a mask for everyones safety.
