Went to MOVE Performance Training with bama chaarg and we had a blast! Learned so much and had a blast working out! Coach Andy and his team did a great job making sure we were comfortable with all the moves given to us.

STOP! If you’ve tried everything under the sun chasing the “new you”. You’ve been to the 9 rounds and the CrossFit, the weight watchers and the 24 hour fitness, the yoga studio and the spin class, the meathead trainer at the local gym and the advice of every single well intentioned friend that you have. If you’ve tried every diet that’s ever had a headline or every pill, shake, and bar that promises a new way of life. JUST STOP!START coming to MOVE Performance Training. Start surrounding yourself with an atmosphere and staff thats only concern is to help you succeed. START MOVING!If you take nothing away from this review take this: Coach Andy WILL change your life. That’s the bottom line. I don’t care if your old or young, fat or skinny, handicapped or an athlete. Coach Andy will change your life.Being a lifelong Type 1 diabetic it took countless surgeries on my legs and feet before I decided to make a change. I tried all the aforementioned usual suspects when it came to fitness and they all led back to the same place. Fat Harris. Then Coach Andy walked into my life. Or I walked into MOVE Performance Training...Coach Andy spent months (the better part of a year) working with me to figure out how my jenky handicapped contorted body worked and devised a fitness plan that pertained specifically to me. “No pain no gain” is not in Andy’s mantra. He did what countless others (even doctors) had failed to do. He devised a fitness plan that I was able to stick with. It wasn’t fast but more importantly it wasn’t painful. MOVE is not the “I’m going to fix all your problem in 3 months” type of establishment. Instead I’m over 2 years in I’ve never felt or looked better. The mobility Coach Andy has returned to me has been the most life changing. I wasn’t able to even bend over all the way when I started much less walk up a fight of stairs. Now I’m competing in 75 mile bike races and enjoying playing with my kids in a way I never thought possible.Coach Andy WILL change your life! More...

Coach Andy is an unbelievably good performance coach. You certainly won't find better in Tuscaloosa. There is zero doubt that he knows his stuff - his background is very impressive, and his workouts are unlike anything I've ever done. This is so much more than static weightlifting and basic cardio. I also love how invested he is in each client's individual success and how he tailors his workouts to your unique situation, whether you are young/old, male/female, rehabbing from injury/already in great shape, etc. More...

Andy understands fitness on a whole 'nother level (go read his bio if you haven't already). He is not a "one size fits all" or fad based coach. He doesn't treat his clients as a herd but genuinely cares about each individual as a person. There are some good trainers in Tuscaloosa but I have zero hesitance in putting Andy in the exceptional category. More...

If I could give this place a 6th star I would. At MoVe there's no blanket programming , or no one size fits all kind of fitness. Andy personalizes workout that are suited for your specific need. I'm a professional boxer, so my workout are based on my needs for being in the ring and enhancing any athletic ability I may have, but my wife and daughter workout at MoVe also. Their needs are different than mine, so they have a different program.
If you want to get stronger,this place is for you. If you want to get faster, this place is for you. If you're an athlete and want to perform better at your sport, this place is for you. Also, if you just want to enhance your movement and perform day to day demands better, this place is for you. Come and let Andy personalize a program based on your needs.

Andy is the best coach! Came to him after knee surgery 1 year ago. Doctor said: “Don’t do squats!” - You know what: Screw the Doctor! I got stronger than I ever was before and gained sky high confidence! Doing all sorts of squats with and without weight, did some incredible deadlifting today. But still you gotta be dedicated and you must want to give every drop of sweat you have. If that applies to you, whatever condition you’re in, Andy is gonna make you stronger! More...

Q&As

The goal setting process is vital to having success and sustainability in health, fitness and performance. Everyone is different so we have to understand not everyone responds the same. The person matters!

We have to first find out where they client is, with assessment and evaluation. Second we have to create a blueprint for where they want to go. It doesn't have to overly complicated but it does have to be realistic. Most often this is where we fail. We don't properly plan! We try to accomplish way too much, way too soon. Change can be small and subtle but done consistently well will yield long term, positive results. Thirdly, with a solid blueprint we put our strategic plan into action. We create check marks and accountability to measure progress to ensure our plan is working and moving forward. No plan or person is perfect so we also proactively search ahead for potential roadblocks and issues.

The clients who achieve their goals do not become dependent on me to fulfill them, but are EMPOWERED to reach their goals, with support and guidance.

I love the coaching of people and helping them work toward their goals and objectives. It's also helping people navigate the trash fitness and nutrition information and social standards that are rampant in our world. The truth is powerful so I love to help push that to clients.

I also love the human body and it's amazing design and capability!

I was burned out of college coaching but had a desire to continue to use my gifts training a different population. I felt the Tuscaloosa area was in need of my services for the youth and adult population.

I have the qualifications and experience that are unique to this area. I hold a degree in Exercise and Sports Science from the University of Florida in 2006, In 2007, I became a certified strength and conditioning coach and have maintained that for 11 years. I have over 15 years of training experience.

My current clientele range in age from 8-88! That wouldn't be possible with a one size fits all approach. My clients would be the first to tell you that each plan is designed with their objectives and needs in mind. My well rounded approach focuses on multiple variables that influence and impact your life, strength, performance, health, aging, speed, flexibility and much more. Semi-Private Training is a customized training plan, for the individual needs of the client, in a small group setting.

Coach to Athlete : 1-4
Class times are spread out over the day and selected by the client Monday-Saturday

This highly customized option gives you an all-around exclusive training plan. We will go in depth to evaluate and assess your body from top to bottom. This option will give you the most attention and address your needs.

Coach to Athlete: 1-8
Monday, Wednesday & Friday will focus on fundamental Strength, Power, Proper Technique & more
Tuesday, Thursday & Saturday will focus on Speed, Conditioning, Agility & Quickness​
Fun, safe and competitive environment

H.S. Edge is offered for those athletes or students, who are looking for a more customized plan for their sport, goals or needs. ​
Ages: 13-18
Intensity: Modified and selected based upon clients ability & objectives
Coach to Athlete: 1-4
Class times are user selected Monday-Saturday & use the Semi-Private Schedule
Great choice for those who are looking to improve specific abilities, injury concerns, and athleticism.

If your team could use a professional Strength and Conditioning Coach, we'd love to meet and discuss options on designing a program for your teams' needs. In addition to an elite training program, we emphasize team building and character development. These are often overlooked, but are vital into individual and ultimate team success.
