What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Technical details matter, like getting the lighting and composition exactly perfect, but more than that, it's the anticipation of and managing to capture unique human moments that show emotion.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have a degree in graphic design, but had worked in software engineering for many years, using photography as a creative outlet hobby. Shortly before the Covid pandemic, I began taking photography more seriously and was encouraged to charge for my photos at bike races. That led to the start of my business, and branching out into the other areas and disciplines of photography.
Why should our clients choose you?
As a photographer with a design background, I have a slightly non-traditional view of the field of photography. Using my design principles, I aim to capture photos that best communicate the needs and desires of the client, rather than forcing my own views upon them. Of course, there are times where that's exactly what the client needs, but a conversation or two during the beginning of a project will guide us as a photographer-client team.

It depends. For image licensing, or commissioned work this is possible. If I need to capture a specific event or subject, then of course, I need to be in the same location.
Wedding Photography
Each wedding is a unique event, and I desire to work with clients to find the style and length of coverage that works best for their needs and budget. This can include anything from ceremony-only coverage, to all-day coverage of preparations through the ceremony and into the reception and party. I also have experience with destination weddings, and am willing to travel along with your party and provide multi-day coverage as well.
Sports Photography
Sports are all about the action. I aim to capture a story that describes the game or match and makes your athletes look and feel as pro as the real pros. I have experience with amateur sports all the way up through college.

Portraits
Portraits are meant to show the subject(s) in their best light and convey a specific attitude or feeling. I work with my clients to capture portraits that achieve their goals. I can work with natural light in outdoor or indoor settings, or with backdrops and studio lights as well.
Headshots
Headshots are akin to portraits, with the exception that we're generally only capturing the head, face, and shoulders. These photos are generally for professional use and in most cases are best left clean and simple to show the subject in their best light. Every case is different, however, and I love to work with my clients if they have different needs.
Events
Event photography is a large category and could include anything from a backyard party to a corporate event or more. This style of photography is generally more documentary, and I aim to capture a series of photos that tells the story of the event, as well as finding moments of human connection throughout the event.
