I am most passionate about portrait photography, and my approach is to first and foremost help the subject feel comfortable. Since having your picture taken can be stressful, my goal is to create a pleasant and enjoyable experience that will result in images we are both excited about. Additionally, because creating a portrait is a collaboration, I love hearing ideas from clients and having their input.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
--How are the photos being used?
--Are the final images going to be posted online or printed?
--How many people will be in the photos?
--Do you have any ideas such as location(s), wardrobe, and overall "feel" for the images?
--How many final images do you need or want?
--Do you have a deadline for when you need the final images?
--What is your budget?
What do you love most about your job?
I love creating, collaborating, and helping; with portrait photography, I get all three. I think it is really neat to capture a moment in time and space that will invoke a unique emotion or memory for whomever is looking at the photo, which is especially true if someone is looking at an image of themself.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I have always been creative and love making something out of nothing, and of all the creative endeavors I have pursued, photography best lends itself to being of service to others while still scratching my creative itch.
