TL;DR: great coaching, great community. Super safe, this box will push you to your best. If there was a sixth or even 7th star, Mercury would get them. From the day I walked in as a complete novice, Mercury has been incredibly welcoming. Staff is incredibly knowledgeable about CrossFit, nutrition, fitness, and especially form. You won’t find any of the crazy (dangerous) CrossFit seen in YouTube here, just workouts scaled for every fitness ability and ranging across Gymnastics, Power/Oly lifting, and endurance training. Coaches carry multiple advanced and specialty certs and take the time to ensure every athlete is performing each movement safely and in their particular range while still pushing each athlete to their best. Like Tom, I’m Not sure what David is talking about with regards to his manliness. You’re going to pull yourself out of a puddle of sweat at the end of the workout, but that’s kind of the point. I naively assumed I (6’2”, 250) couldn’t be spotted in a Squat without a linebacker behind me. Never felt safer. It’s spotting, not lifting you up. Coaches are also quick to note where you are struggling to make sure you have the help to continue safely. Speaking of safety, the coaches are quick to check technique to limit injuries, and quick to diagnose and check in on _possible_ injuries, even if it’s just an athlete grunting as they drop a bar. Overall I can’t recommend this box enough. Perfect size for a drop-in, great expertise to help experienced athletes, and a great community to make your home box. More...

My husband and I joined a little over two years ago. I was 6 months postpartum with our second child, and we were looking for a more engaging and motivating way to work out. We had both had memberships to regular gyms such as LA Fitness and 24 Hour Fitness for over 12 years and needed something different. From the time we walked in, we were greeted by friendly faces, and instantly build friendships and relationships with the members, and especially the coach, Heather. I had no experience in weightlifting, HIIT training, and had the mindset that lifting weight would make me bulk up. I was coached step by step and found a whole new motivation for working out. Heather is knowledgeable, skilled, and knows each of her member’s strengths and weaknesses. With Crossfit, I am stronger both mentally and physically. The atmosphere of being with a group of people at this gym is encouraging, uplifting, and has friendly-competition. We have social gatherings, and have fun working out together everyday, even at 5:30 in the morning. I am challenged and improving every time I step into the box. It’s the best place to workout with the best company and coach! More...

I have been attending this CrossFit gym for just over two years. I have grown a lot in terms of my strength, confidence, and abilities. Heather has always pushed me to better myself with every workout. I can’t say enough good words about my experience here. The ppl who attend with me really make it feel like a family. It’s a great feeling to be encouraged and cheered on by peers. More...

I started going to Mercury Crossfit back in August of 2018. All my past training experience was lifting weights at a typical gym. From the time i started crossfit at MCF I received a challenging workout with coaching on ways to improve form and overall lifting technique. There have been many occasions Heather and Doug spent extra time helping me become better at crossfit. Not only is the coaching exceptional at MCF but there is also the Family/Team environment. All the members I've encountered at MCF are supportive and encouraging and help make the most challenging of workouts a little bit easier. If your looking to join a crossfit community, MCF is great place to be a part of. More...

Not sure where David's coming from when he says Heather "didn't make him feel comfortable as a man" but it's an unusual comment and makes me wonder just what the hell he was expecting. It also makes me want to question whether he actually IS a man. Dude, she ain't there to wipe your ass. She's there to kick it. For me, she was great. She's an attractive woman who knows her stuff and has the physique to back it up. I played football for 18 years and was on the Baylor Strength Staff for two. I know she knows what she's talking about. I also question your claim of having 4 years of crossfit. I have no dog in this hunt and have only been to her class once because I live in Uptown but I wish she were closer. It was a great workout and I would definitely recommend her. More...
