Robyn did our wedding photos in May 2018. Not only were the photos she took absolutely gorgeous, but she included so many little surprises along the way after our big day including a preview video. We couldn't have been more thrilled with our experience with Robyn! More...

Robin did our family photos this year and she did a phenomenal job. She is very easy to work with and deals very well with children. I highly recommend her for photography. She will also be doing my sons upcoming graduation photos. More...

Q&As

From a technical standpoint, knowing all about lighting and how to get it to work properly for you to create ideal environment is extremely important. From a more intimate standpoint, however, capturing a moment instead of expecting something special to show up on the image by asking a client to "Say Cheese" is crucial. This requires patience, trust, and at times a good sense of humor or a casual friendly dialogue that encourages a true response rather than a staged one.

I always begin by asking about the client's own vision for their images. I'm happy to look over inspiration images they may have seen, but also have many ideas to offer of my own. I always try to get a time and place that is comfortable for them personally (ex. when is your child the most fresh? after a nap? first thing in the morning?) I try to remove any factors that may work against the session from the start (ex. taking family photos at 6:30 when bedtime is 7... that's a bad scenario).

I love people, and capturing the most significant parts of their lives is so important. I've written blog posts about how important images are to those we love, and I want to make the time we spend together special so we get beautiful moments my clients will treasure forever. Making someone who maybe lacked a bit of confidence feel good about themselves is a huge benefit of my job. Also having fun during our time together so no one leaves feeling uncomfortable or with a negative feeling about getting pictures taken is really important. The connection I make with my clients is probably the thing I love the most.

I have always been a photography lover. My dad is a professional photographer, and I had a camera in my hands from a very young age, and an innate appreciation for the world around me and seeing beauty in many forms. But the catalyst to start a business came after I had my first 2 children. I took photos of everything they were involved in (dance/sports/school events). I always took extra photos of everyone who was there and shared them with the families there. People started asking if they could hire me to take photos of their children doing events, and I kept declining to do it for money, but would always take the photos for them for free. After a lot of encouragement from friends and family, I invested in some upgraded equipment, hired a mentor, and did a lot of training on line and in the classroom to prep myself to turn my passion into a career. That was 13 years ago, and I've never stop appreciating that push in this direction, because it has been my joy to do this business.

When you choose me as your photographer, you get more than just a paying a person behind a camera to snap a picture and leave. I want my clients to truly enjoy themselves when they have their sessions. When I do weddings, I want my couples to enjoy their special day without having to worry about any part of capturing the memory of that day. I am very real with my clients. I am wholly professional and wholly human at the same time, which a good mix ensuring personal comfort and confidence in a great product at the same time. I want every client I have to know that I will give them 100% of myself so that they walk away from the experience happy and satisfied with the treatment and products they receive, and knowing they will call me again for their future photography needs.
