Before planning our wedding I knew I wanted to find a photographer who lives to capture every detail and every moment in a beautiful way. Someone who was passionate, dedicated and made sure to capture the moments the Bride and Groom wanted. Melinda Hope Photography is amazing! She is always there to answer any and all questions and ensures you feel confident in all your decisions. She is super professional and knows how to work the perfect shots. She isn't afraid to take risks and have a little fun! We booked her for our wedding and the package included an engagement shoot as well. Our engagement photos turned out perfectly. They were shot before sunset and it made for a beautiful background and was exactly what we wanted. We were so excited to see how our wedding photos turned out and they were everything we imagined. She takes time to get to know her couples, find out what they like and don't like and gets a photo list prior to the wedding. She spots the best areas for photos, positions you in fitting positions and ensures she gets the perfect picture. I can tell she is very passionate and loves what she does, its mirrored in her work. I genuinely cannot put into words the array of emotion and abundance of appreciation I have for Melinda and her work. Knowing our big day would be over in the blink of an eye my husband and I stressed the importance of finding the perfect photographer to make certain we could relive our special day for the rest of time; and Melinda exceeded our expectations by a landslide. We booked the largest package she offered to ensure optimal coverage, as well as a second shooter on site, and it was the best decision ever! Of course I think Melinda's work is amazing.
She's my sister.
However, as a person featured in many of her school projects on her journey to become the talented young woman she is today, I have first hand experience of seeing how she works with her clients.
I have never felt more beautiful than when I see the results of how she captures me through her lens. I don't care that she's my family - being photographed makes me very uncomfortable. Melinda's professionalism, however, instantly creates a comfortable, relaxed, and fun atmosphere that allows a potentially awkward event to become a really great experience.
I love her as my family, and I love her as a photographer. Hands down she'd be photographing my wedding if she wasn't going to be standing up as my matron of honor!

A couple of weeks ago, I met her in Downtown Howell so she could take some natural light head shots of me. I brought my boyfriend and puppy with me to hang out, but she actually included them in some of the pictures which was nice of her.

Melinda's work truly exceeded my expectations. Not only was she amazing at editing the photos, but her patience, creativity and relaxed personality made our family/newborn shoot amazing! She was able to juggle our attention hungry 5 year old and our newborn at the same time! When I got all the pictures back I couldn't help but get emotional at seeing all the moments captured. Melinda was my photographer for my wedding, and she was fantastic! First, she photographed the engagement photos. My fiance and I wanted snow in our photos.
Since Michigan weather is not super cooperative, we did not get snow on our original date for the photo session. Melinda was supportive, professional, and flexible in working to reschedule the photo shoot until we got our desired weather. Not only was she flexible about the date, but also the location. She shot the photos in Lansing to meet us half way. The photos were great because she is creative as she finds the best angles and lighting.
I can't wait to see the wedding photos. I have only seen two of them thus far but I know they'll be great.
