How do I begin to describe what it’s like working with McKenzie — fun, free-spirited, comfortable, authentic, absolutely amazing. I have a really hard time feeling like myself on the rare occasions that I’m being photographed by someone. McKenzie has such a gift for making you feel at ease, hyping you up, and creating an atmosphere that is so friendly and easy and inviting that you often forget you’re in a session and feel like you’re just hanging out with a friend. From engagement shoots to wedding day, McKenzie goes above and beyond to capture genuine and amazing memories in a way that is so timeless and beautiful. My husband and I feel so lucky to have had her by our side during our wedding day to support us and make us both feel celebrated and incredible the whole day. There are SO many amazing things I want to share about our experience with McKenzie, I don’t even know where to start! My husband and I have gone through a lot in our two years of marriage. We had a DIFFERENT photographer lose our engagement pictures (2019), planned a large 300 person wedding which ended up being canceled because of Covid (2020), didn’t end up getting a lot of wedding pictures because we thought we’d have another wedding in 2021 (but cancelled that too), went through a traumatic experience at work, moved cities (2021), and many more unexpected things. Amidst all of the chaos, I had always had my mind set on getting laid back (but also beautiful) pictures taken of my husband and I, and our dog! I wasn’t even sure what I truly wanted, but I stumbled across McKenzie’s page and was drawn to her photography skills! I messaged her and just inquired about a simple 30 minute photo session and she responded super fast! She made the entire process so easy and enjoyable. She helped us find a place to take the pictures at, helped me figure out what to wear (the night before when I realized I forgot to pick out an outfit for my husband and I 🫣) and was the very best communicator. She made us feel comfortable and just made everything so simple & fun! On a particularly difficult night, McKenzie sent me our pictures & I seriously cried when looking at them. They were absolutely perfect and better than I could have ever imagined. I was and am still in awe of her talents and overall joyful personality. I reached back out to her that night to thank her for giving us something that we will cherish forever. I can’t wait to use McKenzie for all of our future life events! We booked McKenzie for a mini fall session and she BLEW us away! We were hoping to grab a few good fall photos for our save the dates since our wedding photographer was booked until after the new year and got so many GREAT photos. Talented, friendly, and accommodating!! I loved McKenzies’ approach to everything during our session.
