McArdle's Restaurant

We're in town for an event and found this Super pub-glad we chose such a delightful place. Great service with a great smile. I very much wanted a salad and our waitress was Very attentive to my allergy and seemed truly not to be bothered.  She could not have been more prompt, polite and friendly. Ordered the panini-amazing flavor served with a marinara sauce from heaven. Could have ate many plates if we were here for a few drinks. For dinner we had the fried haddock (cod was sold out which is actually a good sign) It was huge, flaky inside with a crunchy batter. Not greasy or soggy. My bourbon burger was deliciously thick, original bun, with bacon slightly crunchy. The sauce was slightly sweet with a def taste of bourbon. Excellent food. Owner was onsight and very friendly. Nom nom nom! This place is good for vegetarians and meat eaters! The food is always good! I just wish that had more vegetarian options. My Fiance loves the bourbon bacon burger. I usually get the veggie quesadilla, it isn't too bad. But there isn't anything crazy special about the quesadilla. But if you are looking for banging sweet potato fries on the east side, come here. The seating in here is nice because the booths are nice and high and you feel cozy and secluded from everyone else. My family has been to McArdles many times over the years and generally had a good experience. It used to be my mom's favorite lunch spot with her friends for their steak salad. Don't be fooled by the "1 free glass of wine or beer" reward that you see here; it's expired and was only for Thursday evenings anyway. You can expect solid upscale pub food and good service. My mom and I went in for a late lunch of soup recently and it was just right. I was craving French onion but then the lobster bisque (cup or bowl - we got a bowl) swayed me so my mom got the French onion (crock only) and we shared. They both came with a packet of oyster crackers to add. I was pleased with both; my mom didn't like the lobster much. We were surprised they don't have a lunch menu (half sandwich and soup sort of thing) but it was later in the day so the soups ended up being enough anyway. We came here for brunch and you must start off with the popover. They are divine with the honey butter. There aren't really a bunch of good brunch spots in Fairport/ Perinton so locals should really take note and check this place out. Good food and good service.

We accidentally discovered this place with a coupon from restaurant.com. When we walked in we were unsure of how the food would be - it looked like a plain pub. We ordered 2 Canalside Grills (NY strips) with gorgonzola butter - and they were amazing! We've eaten here twice and have not been disappointed. This place was decent! Plenty of parking in the back. The dining room inside is large, and they have an old patio section and a new. My friend and I were sat in the front new patio. Friendly service. The veggie burger I had was fine. Nothing amazing. The fries fries were also decent. The drinks were a little too sweet for my taste. We drove past this place at first, on our way home from fairport canal days. So glad we turned around! The lobster Mac and cheese was delicious. ... but the periogies in Alfredo sauce!!! These were AMAZING! Picture, potato and cheese periogies, smothered in Alfredo sauce and bacon bits, topped with green onions. Great spot for Sunday brunch! Ample inside seating so still go even if the weather keeps you away from the great new patio. We were there at 10 (brunch is 10-2). Our party of 4 got a booth right away without having a reservation. Plenty of menu options and a full bar. The chicken and waffles were amazing! The portions were generous for everything ordered. What I like about this place is the private booths and the family atmosphere on St Patrick's Day. My husband and I were looking at a restaurant to get some authentic Irish food but weren't looking for the loud pubs on this day. We came after 9pm for a late dinner on St Patty's so most of the dinner crowd had left but it was still nice. We ordered their specials for that day of lamb stew and their cod fish fry dinner. We also had their appetizer of their lobster bisque on flatbread. It was delicious and big chunks of lobster. The stew was very homemade and very fragrant in flavor. Tried a bit of my husband's cod fish and it was like the perfect batter to fish consistency. Also love when french fries are beer battered. There's a lot to like here ...The kitchen executes really well, bettwr than you'd expect.The place looks great, with nice high backed booths. The staff has very low turnover, so wveyone knows what they're doing.  Everyone is pleasant. Six of my family members dined at McArdles this week. It was the first time I had been there in about 10 years. The restaurant was not extremely busy. We were seated promptly and our server greeted us promptly. Our service was adequate but not great. For example we had to ask for a bread basket for our table when one was not provided and dessert options were not offered. The food was good quality. The pot roast and shepherds pie were served in huge portions. The spinach salad was good but did not have enough dressing.McArdles is definitely worth another visit. First time at this restaurant and we'll definitely be coming back. We went to McArdle's with two out-of-town guests - both who had food restrictions. There were a lot of choices to pick from and they have some great unexpected beer choices to enjoy also. The food was very good and the service was really excellent. Our waitress, Lynnae, did a great job in making sure we were taken care of without hovering. The shepherd's pie was chockfull of meat and veggies. The pot roast baked potatoes was huge and very filling. And the all-you-can-eat shrimp delivered what it offered - the fried shrimp was wonderfully crisp and tender. No one was hungry when we left the table.This was a great place to sit down and catch up with friends. It wasn't too loud and we were able to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee after dinner. I've been eating at this restaurant for a number of years.  I have always found the food to be excellent.  I've never had a bad meal here.  The staff has always been prompt and attentive.  The owner usually visits the tables to welcome you and solicit any feedback.  If you like pot roast, this is the place to go!  Great homemade desserts too. So they've added brunch at McArdle's and they do just as great a job with that as they do with everything else.  The owner, John, is a great guy, he always seems to be here, which is probably why everything is consistently great.  The McArdle's Benedict is awesome, so was the Womblett (omelette cooked in a waffle iron).  Seems like there's always something else we want to try on the menu though, but it's all good.  This is definitely the best brunch spot in Fairport, lunch and dinner are great too! I have always enjoyed dinners at McArdles. The fish fry, which you can get any day of the week, the pot roast, and of course the Berger are a few of my favorites. Now they are open for Sunday brunch, and boy did they bring their game! The menus is full of things I'm anxious to try. I'll be there tomorrow for my third brunch with them. I'm definitely getting the corned beef hash and maybe the Huevos Rancheros. We went for brunch on Sunday. We like to frequent local establishments. The staff was fabulous. This was their "opening day" for brunch service so it was slightly chaotic but everyone soldiered through it. The menu is fun with old standards and those favorites with a twist. Did someone say homemade? It's true! Generous proportions. We were so impressed we booked for Easter brunch! I'm sure it will fill up quickly. Bottom line? GO! You will not be disappointed. My husband and I tried it here for the first time about a month and a half ago and since we've been back 2 more times including last night . The soups are what brought us back...amazing. Had great lamb chops here.  Cooked to a perfect medium rare.  Service was good, alcohol is reasonably priced and my wife was happy with her salad.  Beats a lot of places at higher price points on quality and service.  It might not have the ambiance for some, but I'd rather eat a satisfying meal than look at people with more money than food sense pretending that they are having a good time. Nice, upscale casual dining.Fond of their Bourbon BBQ Burger. Good Panko Haddock Fry. Great place for dinner - the food is great, beautiful tall wood booths allow privacy and ability to speak in a normal volume without having to shout to be heard, staff helpful, service quick,  supports local groups like School of the Holy Childhood and Lollypop farm, and last but not least the owner visits each table to make sure your visit was great.
