I had high hopes for my professional headshots, and Max exceeded even those! I got in touch with Max based on his amazing shots posted here and on Instagram. He seemed to have exactly the balance between professionalism and uniqueness that I was looking for. Right away, he knew the perfect location for our shoot, a downtown PDX area with fantastic backdrops. During the shoot, I also discovered that he has a super talented eye for angles and lighting. The shots came out absolutely perfect, and I’ll definitely be reaching out to him for all of my future photo needs. He really is a gem in the PDX photography scene!! More...

I had professional headshots taken by Max, and they far exceeded what I had imagined and hoped for. I usually get pretty nervous and awkward when I get my photo taken, but Max made me feel at ease. I ended up having a lot of fun, and he was such a nice guy to hang out with throughout the process. He was super communicative from beginning to end and made sure that I was happy with the shots. I have recommended his services to all of my colleagues, and plan to book him again for any other photo services I might need :) More...

Q&As

When it comes to photographing people, I think the most important thing is making them feel comfortable enough to be themselves in front of the camera. I believe my strengths as a photographer lay not only in my sharp eye and dedication to the craft, but also in my natural inclination to connect with the people around me and to be an active and present participant in the interaction between myself and my subjects.

What are you hoping to get out of these photos? What inspires you? What sorts of feelings do you want the images we create to emote?

I love that it's never the same and that it never gets boring. Every shoot is its own unique challenge, and I get to travel around and meet all kinds of interesting people I wouldn't otherwise cross paths with.

I just really loved taking pictures and wanted to see if I could make a career out of that. I've also never really wanted to live a 9-5 lifestyle, and I love the flexibility that being a freelance photographer allows.

My style is unique, my prices are reasonable, and I'm a lot of fun to be around. There's a lot of photographers out there, and you might be able to find someone out there who will do a job for less, but I've put a lot of time into getting really good at what I do, and I think what I have to offer is of great value.

It depends on the shoot - for product photography and lifestyle branding all I really need is the product and a budget. Portraits and weddings I will of course need to be there taking the photos in person.

I'm fully vaccinated and am always happy to wear a mask during the shoot if COVID-19 is of great concern to my clients. Outdoor shoots are my speciality, which makes risk of transmission considerably lower as well.
