I was in need of getting my headshot taken and was referred to Marie + Maxwell Photography from a friend. I figured it would be just like every other boring headshot I have taken and boy was I wrong. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
This is a loaded question, because there are so many ways to take photographs that there's no one good answer. There are technical bits that need to be correct, but even technically bad photos are great when genuine expression is there. To me, genuine expression is the single most important thing about taking a great photo.

What do you love most about your job?
Meeting new people. Every time we get a chance to create memories for people, and spending time with clients we love it.
What inspired you to start your own business?
We just love photography. There's something magical about taking a photo and just realizing, "That's the one." There isn't really a good way to do this job without starting your own business, while the business side is difficult - it's absolutely worth the work to create amazing memories for people.

Yes, we are able to provide certain types of photography remotely. We can do product photography given the client ships items and we can deliver via internet.

We clean our studio frequently and will wear masks upon request.
