We had our family pictures taken by Alex, and the experience was fantastic. My kids opened right up to her; she had books and other props for them that helped them sit still and give genuine smiles and sweet looks. Love, Love, Love Alex!!!We have used Alex multiple times for family photos, kids portraits and animal portraits. We have always been beyond thrilled with how great the pics turn out. She has come to our home and quickly picked out great spots for photos. Once my daughter insisted on wearing her hair a certain way (it looked terrible) but I gave in. When Alex showed up she nicely explained why that would not photograph well and helped her make her hair look better. I'm so glad she spoke up, because the photos turned out darling! More...

I don't even know where to begin my praise of Maria Alexandra. My fiancé and I were living in Denver, but I wanted our engagement photos to be taken near my home in Southern Oregon (in Decemeber). I googled photographers for hours and just LOVED Alex's blog and online portfolio. Being a same-sex couple, I was astounded by the lack of LBGTQ couples featured by Southern Oregon photographers and so just had to ask any potential photographers how they felt the fact that we're lesbians affect the quality of their work. Though no one said they would refuse to shoot a session with us, what we found in Alex was someone who was able to recognize our love for one another and translate that love into some of the most breathtaking photographs I've ever imagined. We were so impressed with her work that, despite a large number of well-skilled photographers in Denver, we opted to pay to have her fly to Colorado so that she could also document our wedding. She went out on a limb personally and professionally to publish lesbian photo sessions online and even had allowed the wedding to be featured on several other sites. Her photos speak for themselves, but the gift that Alex has as a photographer- to make you feel beautiful, sexy, at-ease, and confident to let down your guard so that she can capture some of the most intense parts of your spirit and relationships with loved ones- it cannot be described.
