The Magic Man himself (Bill Packard) appears in formal, business, or stage attire, depending on the occasion. His close-up, or strolling magic, can "break the ice" at social gatherings, enhance image at hospitality suites, or draw attention to a trade show booth, as the effects can be modified to mention products and services.

It was very easy working with Sean. He always answered my questions promptly and was very accommodating. We had a small group of adults and Sean gave us a great performance at our house. The magic was very contemporary and was truly mind blowing. I would absolutely recommend this magician. More...

Tammy was fantastic! We hosted a party for my son at his adult day program, 100 people attended. Tammy created a unique ballon for each person and they were THRILLED! !!!! As I watched Tammy create a special ballon for a nice young man who also happens to be blind, I knew she had far greater talents that her amazing balloon creations. ( and they are AMAZING) Tammy had him feel the balloon as it was taking shape and explained to him exactly what she was doing since he couldn’t see her working. As he sat feeling the balloon creation, rocking back and forth to feel the balloon move... a big smile came over his face..... not sure what he was thinking but it sure must have been good! The balloon creations took this 25th birthday celebration to the next level! Special thanks to Magic Man Entertainment for being so easy to work with! We look forward to having y’all join us again real soon!!!!! Hands down, 5 +++++ stars!!!!!! More...

Bill gives his heart and soul into his performances. He was a big hit at our local Lions Club's annual Breakfast With The Easter Bunny. If you have any event coming up, especially if it will involve children, he'll work with you and it will be more than worth the cost. More...

Bill was quite entertaining, always happy, always smiling, seemed to be having as much fun as the party guests were! What a pleasure to have such talented and energetic professionals at our event. Bill handled the business side with zeal and professionalism. He was in constant contact with the entire process and handled all my questions and requests very expediently. Our entertainer, Nicki, was awesome! She came to our company Christmas dinner dressed as an elf, which thrilled the kids. Her face painting is excellent for both kids and adults, and both participated. Her balloon animals and sculptures are the bomb! Seriously talented and a personality perfect for this type of affair. Kids and adults were gifted with swords & shields, puppies on hearts, & parrots on shoulders. We booked for 1 1/2 hrs; we could have kept going another 1/2 hr easy. HIGHLY RECOMMEND! More...

How long have you been interested in magic?
FROM COUNTRY-ROCK STAR TO MAGICIAN: BIOGRAPHY OF BILL PACKARD
There's something magical happening in Atlanta! Bill Packard, affectionately known as The Magic Man, is spreading his enthusiasm for magic and balloon twisting all over town.
So, where did this driving force in entertainment come from?
Bill’s first trick was to begin life in 1954, in a rural town in Maine, where as a child, he took piano lessons and taught himself guitar. Also fascinated with magic illusion, he obtained the Cub Scout Magic Book (1960) and The Golden Book of Magic (1964) -- both contain routines that he uses in his professional magic shows today. As early as seventh grade, he organized a small singing group that performed his original folk songs. Since there was no high school in the small town, Eighth Grade Graduation was a special event -- Bill earned the honorary position of Valedictorian.
In High School (in Connecticut), Bill participated in the usual choral and instrumental organizations (accompanying at the piano or playing French Horn), and graduated as the Top Male in his class. He was also a member of Sing-Out Glastonbury, an active local version of the Up With People! movement.
Bill attended a four-and-a-half year program at Ithaca College in upstate New York, graduating Magna Cum Laude in 1976 with a Bachelor of Music degree combining teaching (choral and instrumental music) and applied performance (piano). Having been introduced to the style by a fellow student on the first day of school, Bill joined the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of BarberShop Quartet Singing in America, Inc., and continues to sing Barbershop music today. Bill recalls seeing presentations by Doug Henning, Kreskin, and two “ESP experts”, who inspired additional interest in magic, mentalism, and hypnosis. Bill’s summer vacations were spent as the resident singing piano player at a restaurant on Nantucket Island.
After graduation, Bill tuned pianos and organized a pop trio that entertained in hotel lounges. It was so much fun (certainly less demanding than a piano concert career!), he worked full-time “on the road” with small dance and show bands for the next five years, including a brief tour of Saudi Arabia. In 1982, he moved to Atlanta to join the country-rock group “Atlanta”, which recorded three Top Ten singles and two Gold Albums. The band toured coast-to-coast for five years, performing concerts and appearing on a number of television programs, including Hee-Haw and The Merv Griffin Show. Changes in the political structure of the country music industry caused the band to fold, and Bill turned to his other childhood dream, magic, as an alternate venue for entertaining.
Bill delivered pizza for a year and a half (practicing sleight-of-hand between deliveries!) until he got his magic break – Underground Atlanta needed street entertainers when it re-opened in 1989. With exposure to Underground's ever-existing and ever-changing crowds, Bill was able to practice his magic and balloon twisting in a working environment, and thus pursue variety arts entertainment full-time, appearing at the popular tourist attraction for ten years.
In the Atlanta area and beyond, Bill quickly established a reputation for creating happy memories with his quality magical entertainment and balloon sculptures. Today, he fulfills up to 400 engagements a year, as The Magic Man’s balloons, close-up magic, platform shows, and stage illusions are in demand for birthday parties, schools, churches, restaurants, social clubs, corporate events, and trade shows. Some of the more memorable moments include starring on a Quality Time cable television program, assisting Harry Blackstone, Jr., entertaining international athletes at the Olympic Village, presenting a stage show at the Special Olympics, and being awarded Atlanta’s Magician of the Year trophy (2000).
Bill’s popularity has allowed him to expand Magic Man Entertainment into a small booking agency, referring other qualified magicians, face painters, balloon twisters, mimes, jugglers, clowns, etc. (and, yes, his Barbershop Quartet “Lighthouse") for engagements that he cannot personally attend or to fulfill his clients’ special needs.
Bill’s wife Tammy, and their adult daughter Nicki, offer balloon-twisting and face-painting for children's parties and restaurants, and often play "magician's assistants" for Bill's stage illusions.
For a memorable party experience, say "Hello" to the man in the white suit!
Take us through your show – what can we expect?
The Magic Man's Magic Show is designed to entertain children of any age. Music, comedy, and just plain fun are blended into the presentation, creating a magical experience that each guest will long remember.
From the moment the Magic Man appears in white tails and top hat, rolling in a trunk that contains the whole show, everyone knows they're in for a treat. While the performer and his audience get acquainted, they discover together that magic can happen right in their hands! After a musical introduction, the group is entertained by magical effects, audience participation, sight gags, and surprises. The length of the act, types of props, and choice of comedy material vary, depending on the age groups (20 minutes for three-year-olds up to 45 minutes or more for a family audience). Each show features Bill's popular "Friendship Rings" routine, and the production of a live rabbit.
For groups of fewer than 20, the Magic Man offers a FREE BONUS. After petting the rabbit, each guest receives a balloon sculpture of his choice. This is a show in itself, as Bill can twist hundreds of different models ("Name any animal in the world!"), and create them quickly, accurately, and in an entertaining manner. This brings the total entertainment package to between 45 and 60 minutes, depending on the ages and number of participants.
For more than 20 guests, Bill may opt to set up a small P.A. system, depending on the environment. Balloon twisting for this large a group is offered as an add-on, explained below.
To accommodate more than 50 people (including parents), Magic Man Entertainment provides a wireless P.A. system, background curtain, and some bigger props, creating a more theatrical event. This larger show features the productions of a live rabbit and dove, a combination
sawing-in-half and suspension using a child volunteer, and a Houdini-style straitjacket escape.
Also, "strolling" is available on an hourly basis. The Magic Man mingles with the guests, entertaining them with out-ofpocket-items like cards, coins, balls, rubber bands, etc., or giving away his popular balloon sculptures.
Sometimes, a combination "show and stroll" is well received, since one concept enhances the other, with reduced rates for the package deal. In addition, Magic Man Entertainment can arrange for other variety artists, such as face-painters, caricature artists, jugglers, mimes, etc., to participate.
Bill Packard is an experienced, full-time, professional family entertainer with a reputation for creating many happy memories. Allow the children in your organization (and their parents) the opportunity to be amused and amazed by this fun-loving personality, affectionately known as... The Magic Man!
