We met with several contractors prior to meeting Rochelle, Luke, and Josh. They immediately put us at ease when they presented how they work as a company. When a significant problem did arise with an old addition they immediately contacted us to meet and make a plan. They made us feel like we were the only project they were working on, crunching all the numbers over and suggesting alternative materials to make it work with our tight budget. Lucas, Jenn, and Josh did such an amazing job on our kitchen. They transformed my 1970's kitchen into a modern farmhouse style that we love. All of my friends and family were amazed by the transformation.

LU Design Build remodeled a carriage house for me on the Central West End. Rochelle, Jamie, Chris, and their team rebuilt the entire space. They were always ready and willing to listen to and address any concerns/suggestions we had; they completed the project on time and on budget, and were very attentive to detail. The quality of their work is excellent. They creatively transformed a dark space into a light and inviting home, while retaining much of the character of the space.

We hired L&U to design and refinishing our basement. This was our first time using a design and build contractor but given my wife and my busy schedules, it was the only way we could see getting the work done. Jennifer did a great job with the design and after a couple of meetings and trading of pictures she quickly picked upon our style preferences. Her recommendations on finishes where either spot on the first try or we got to a decision with a quick iteration or two - much easier than endlessly browsing options ourselves! Because of the comprehensive planning process, we were also able to quickly work through options and come up with solutions that met our budget, including some innovative storage options the team proposed to meet our needs. They are also a technology friendly company that uses project communication tools to keep everyone informed along the way. This process saved us a lot of time and we felt the whole project tied together very well.

The build team did a great job and the finished product turned out great! The process took a bit longer than expected and we had a few communication hiccups along the way but Luke takes service very seriously and was responsive to make sure everything got back on track. The team also continued to follow up with the supplier on our behalf on a complication with the gas logs even after the final payment was made, which from prior experience isn't always the case. All in all it was a very good experience and we would definitely use them again. More...

My initial appt was with the lead and designer to move my laundry area to the main floor. They were extremely helpful providing options for me. I didn't know what color I wanted or tile for the floor. Going thru the house and determining all that would need to be done, I was provided a quote I believe two days from that. I meant the contractors and was kept informed every step of the way. Every one was very friendly and professional. Without going into too much more detail, I am very satisfied with my new laundry area. It was completed in two weeks. The best decision I've made yet! Oh and just to add...I was a bit apprehensive at first because of the bad publicity for contractors on the news. But I have one now who does it all and they are definitely who I would choose for my future projects. More...

We had Luke and Jennifer come to our house to give us ideas on how to update and renovate our kitchen and laundry room. They came up with some great suggestions and were very easy to work with. Their BEST plan is different from other firms in that a target budget is established and steps are taken to ensure that the project stays within that budget. They followed up several times with us to make sure we were comfortable with their ideas.

Unfortunately, we decided against doing any renovations in our current home. Financially, it did not seem to make sense. However, we would have used LU Design Build if we decided to renovate. I would definitely recommend contacting Luke and Jennifer for any home improvement projects. More...

We hired LU Design to build a screened in deck. We had a basic idea of what we wanted but Luke and his design team has some suggestions which we liked and in the end loved. The guys on the job were extremely courteous and friendly and knew what they were doing. Even to the point when something didn't look like it would work out, rather than just doing what we had agreed upon, they would toss out a suggestion which was always the better way to go. In the end we ended up with a screened in porch that is even more amazing than we had ever hoped it to be. We could not be happier. More...

LU Design was awesome to work with.

Luke was great at setting up the project and the contract and any minor issue was quickly resolved.

Josh did a fantastic job with making sure the project was done to the highest quality.

LU redid our entire main floor which includes--Formal Living, Dining, Family room, Wet Bar area, two powder rooms, a sunroom, kitchen, Laundry, master bedroom and master bath.. It was built in 1990. When done it looked like a 2017 model home.
