Our cat is super nervous and we dreaded trying to take her to the vet. Dr. Rachael Feigenbaum and her assistant came to our house and were wonderful. We got a simple solution for our cat's immediate issues, and though our cat didn't cooperate for a blood draw, we will definitely have them back to try again and have a thorough exam another time. I have luckily only occasionally had reason to call on the vet. The few times that lotus has come to my home they have been responsive and helpful. Today, I had them put my beloved cat Frankie down. Having him cross over at home is really the best experience one could imagine. My cat was comfortable, and both of Dr. Dasho and his assistant were super kind and professional. I am so blessed to have found Dr. Rachael Feigenbaum to care for my cat Kasha in her final months. Kasha had irritable bowel disease for several years and it was being treated and controlled. She celebrated her 17th birthday on 6/7/2018! I knew she was in failing health for the last couple of months and I wanted for her to have one last great birthday. That night she let me know she needed to let go. Rachael came the next morning and let her cross the Rainbow Bridge. I have another cat, A.J. who is 16 and in great health and he is having a little problem wondering where she is even though he was here for the crossing. He licked her forehead before Rachael came over. He and I are grieving deeply together but we know she is in a better place and pain free and we will see her again when it is our time. Dr. Seth Dasho and his assistant Rebecca made one of the saddest, hardest days of our lives as positive of an experience as I could possibly hope for, and we're so thankful for that. Even as I cry writing this, I realize what a gift they gave us and our sweet girl with their patience, genuine compassion, and professionalism.  Not for a second did we feel rushed or pressured, despite our endless questions and oscillations. And when the time came, they were so accommodating and so gentle, our girl was as comfortable as she could have been. Dr Seth Dasho drove to our home with his assistant Shanti. They were right on time and got down on their knees to greet my 2 dogs. Dr. Dasho was professional , knowledgeable and detailed. He is trying to help one of my dogs with a dermatological issue. Very challenging. He spent and hour and 15 mins with us. I have a list of things to try so hopefully I will have success. Dr. Feigenbaum has been working on my almost 14 year old Whippet who has been in pain for years and NOW, he can walk, sprint, and even go up stairs. She has kept my boy alive and happy plus she has so much animal love to share with her dog/cat clients, "they" feel her connection and spirit the minute she walks in the door!!! Dr. Rachael was amazing. We used her for maintenance pet care for all our quadrupeds and she and her team were great, but her hospice services were truly life altering. Her house call service let us keep our senior canine comfortable and enjoying her final days. When the time came for euthanasia, Dr. Rachael was a known friend to the family and our dog. It made for a comfortable and peaceful end of life for our beloved pup and Dr. Rachael was extraordinarily kind to the humans as well. More...

Amazing work. I contacted them a few weeks ago and within an hour they wrote back and my dog had an Accupunture appointment two days later with Dr. Seth Dasho. He's had two appointments and already shows vast improvement and we've even lowered his medication because of it!  After the first appointment he was already playing! He has two slipped disks in his neck and we are trying to do anything we can to stave off surgery. Dr. Dasho checks in on us within a couple of days and always has great recommendations. They don't try to milk the bill or over-treat as I was worried could happen. Our next appointment is not for a month! And he even wants to hear from us as we consult with our other vet. I wholeheartedly recommend this service. I'm eternally grateful as it was awful to see my little guy in pain and having tremors. I would do anything for him and it's rewarding to see a vet come to your house with a great education who feels the same. More...

My dog walker who is a vet-tec with Lotus, recommended Dr Dasho. I found him extremely sensitive to my pets' needs and very knowledgeable. After a bad experience at a Veterinary hospital, my dog was so distressed she would tremble and shake uncontrollably when I needed to take her in. She loves Dr Dasho and is completely calm when he comes to the house. She had punctured her eye on a thorn and he was instrumental in helping me find a specialist and arranging for her to be seen quickly despite their long waiting list. If he doesn't have a necessary medication on hand, he will call it in to my pharmacy for easy pickup. I cannot say enough positive things about Lotus! Everyone I've had the pleasure of interacting with there has been amazing. There is nothing worse than emailing or calling and leaving a message and wondering if you will get a response. That has NEVER been an issue with Lotus! Dr. Dasho, Shanti, and Debra are all absolutely wonderful. We originally had Dr. Dasho see our senior dog, Maddox, who is 13yo with lung cancer. After several years seeing his oncologist, and a year after he had a lung mass removed, we had to resign ourselves to the fact that his body could not tolerate any type of chemo meds. When I started researching more natural treatments, and figuring out what our next steps should be, I reached out to Lotus, and my husband and I haven't regretted it for a second! Just yesterday, we decided to switch to Lotus from our normal vet for our sweet kitty, Mission. We made an appointment with Dr. Dasho to see her and treat her for tapeworms, and as usual, he shared his knowledge and calm demeanor to put us (and Mission) at ease. I've emailed Dr. Dasho several times to ask questions or advice and he has always responded quite quickly, usually within a day. More than three years have passed since I last reviewed Lotus Veterinary House Calls so it's time for an update. Zeus is now 12. 5 years, which is equivalent to an 80-something human, and the past year has seen a big change in his health. It started in January 2016 when my 11-year-old puppy had a grand mal seizure. Talk about SCARY! Long story short. He was diagnosed with a slow-growing meningioma, a tumor that forms on the brain membranes. We made a consultation trip to UC Davis and decided to get it zapped. Everything had happened so fast I was definitely not ready to let this loving boy go. The kind doctors at UCD said I would have a year with him at the most. Well, it's been 14 months and Dr. Rachael Feigenbaum has been with us every step of the way. I truly know that he wouldn't have made it this long, with a good quality of life and a thumping tail, if not for Rachael. She's helped me keep on top of his reactions to medications, especially Prednisone, has given me different options to move ahead, and has respected my knowledge of Zeus and his behaviors. Baby boy has aged five years in this past year, his sight, hearing and mobility have all been affected and I can tell he's entering the end phase of his life. But I truly feel that I am not alone in dealing this emotional situation because we have Rachael on our team and she will be there when the end comes, in our home, in my arms. Dr Seth and his vet tech Shanti arrived right on time, made friends with our two cats, got to know all about their different situations and took care of their exams very efficiently. It was beyond wonderful not to have to traumatize the boys with a trip to the vet's office in the scary carrier. The cats were over the exam and sniffing around for affection before we had completed the transaction. I highly recommend this as an alternative to bringing cats into the office. More...

It's the day you dread the entire time you are a pet parent. The day you have to put your little furry bundle of love and joy down. It never feels like the right time. You hope for some miraculous upswing in their condition. You suddenly get religious and start talking to the clouds hoping the Pet Gods will hear you and send a beam of light down to heal your little one.  You keep waiting for "the sign" that now is the time. It's the absolute fucking worst. But alas, the time comes when you have to play God and do the right thing for your animal. When that day came for me and my kitty, I reached out to Lotus for help and I am very grateful that Dr. Feigenbaum was the help I received.Her demeanor was so understanding, patient and loving. Knowing that at 11:30am, my time with my little Sake would be over forever, I was a sleepless, teary wreck when she and her assistant showed up. I had gone over the whole thing in my head hundreds of times the week leading up to this and even though I thought I knew what was coming, there's no way to prepare for it. What I loved is that she didn't rush me or add any stress to this already horrible day.When it came time to perform the inevitable, I was in the room and she and her assistant worked calmly and quickly to make it as painless as possible for my kitty and me. After it was done, she patiently waited in the other room as I said my final teary goodbyes. They then wrapped her in a blanket and took her away, sending love my way as they left my house.A few days later, I received a lovely handwritten card from her and of course, burst into tears, but you'd have to be a sociopath not to have that reaction. I'm balling even writing this now because it only happened 2 weeks ago, but I think it's an important Yelp to write, because if you find yourself in my boat and need to do the right thing for your little one, Dr. Feigenbaum was the perfect choice. I had the extreme pleasure of meeting Dr. Rachael Feigenbaum through a Vet Tech friend of mine and she has been coming to the house to work on my Whippet for about 3 weeks. This message is in highest praise of such a wonderful Dr. who not only has helped my dog walk with his weak hind legs in just a few sesscions... but is one of the most caring, loving and compassionate doctors one could ever meet! We are heartbroken about the loss of our beloved dog, but Everyone at Lotus was fantastic to work with and very empathetic.  Debra was amazing and very understanding to set up the quick appointment we needed when we saw how quickly our dog was in decline, and Seth and Lexi were amazing as the housecall team that came to take care of us.  They explained EVERYTHING and were extremely patient and compassionate with us and our baby.  The last thing we wanted was for our little girl to be scared and fearful in the last moments of her life.  Lotus allowed us to be with her the whole way, in comfort of our home and surrounded by love and care. My wife and I have two wonderful pair-bonded cats that have a great relationship -- except for the first week after every vet visit. When we take them to the vet, something in his beautiful mind makes Boris forget his brother Marley. It's called "non-recognition aggression" and it's an unbelievably disruptive problem.Lotus Veterinary Services really saved the day for us and our cats. Extremely professional, knowledgeable and attentive staff.  Responses are lightning fast whether via phone or email.  It seems they are on call 24/7!  They are flexible and will work with you best they can.Should you ever need to consider euthanasia on your beloved pet, I would recommend calling Lotus to come to your home instead of having it done at the vet office/hospital.  The kindness and compassion that they give you is above and beyond.  Makes a difficult time much easier to bear.They offer in home cold laser therapy (we used it for our pet's arthritis) and they were great. We only had 2 appointments, so cannot report back on the effectiveness.We loved Dr Seth Dasho and his vet tech Danielle, however all staff were wonderful and kind.It is slightly pricier than going to a regular vet, but worth every penny. This is by far the BEST service anyone could ask for! I recommend them to everyone I know who has pets!- They make themselves available to fit your schedule- I called a highly recommended vet in the area and their wait list for new patients was a month long. Lotus saw me the next day and asked me what the best day/time would work for MY schedule- No more wasting time in the waiting room!- Normal doctor's visits you're spending time getting to the office, then more time in the waiting room, and then possibly more time waiting for the doctor and then checking out. My favorite part about this is that they're respectful of my time. The doctor shows up right when your appointment is and payment is a breeze with Square.- My Frenchie never had anxiety issues going to the vet, but having them do this in the convenience of your own home just makes it all that much better for him. Dr. Dasho to the rescue! We recently relocated to SF and our little dog got very sick. I found Lotus on yelp, and am so glad I did. Our little dog means the world to us and twice now, Dr. Dasho has made a house call to care for her. He's calm and knowledgable and really takes his time to make sure she has what she needs. Dr. Rachael Feigenbaum is so amazing with my two cats. One has chronic pain issues as well as arthritis and hypertrophic cardiomyopathy (HCM) and she sees him monthly for acupuncture and cold laser treatments as well as general checkups. At first he was having none of it, until he started to realize how nice the treatments made him feel and that they helped his pain. Now he's happy to see her and lets her do her thing. He really loves the cold laser treatments she does and collapses in a happy afterglow after she finishes. She also was the first vet I've seen (and we've seen a bunch, including the team at U.C. Davis) who researched and confirmed the safety of giving him 40 mg. of aspirin twice weekly to help his pain and keep his blood thin so as not to throw a clot. That happened once years ago and we're hoping the aspirin makes that less likely in the future. My other cat has been having anal gland issues lately for some unexplained reason, and not only has Rachael been expressing them regularly to keep abscesses from forming, she explained how to prevent this issue from happening so often (canned pumpkin and a more fibrous diet). We could not be happier than we are with Lotus Vet and Rachael Feigenbaum, DVM as our dog Zola's regular vet! Rachael has been caring for Zola since we adopted her 4 years ago. She is always timely for house calls, very helpful with information regarding holistic, preventive, traditional and alternative care options including diet, allergies, testing, vaccinations, prescriptions, treatment of skin, joint and digestive issues, hygiene and thoughtful referrals on the few occasions when Zola has needed to be hospitalized. Rachael is always very sweet with Zola which makes Zola happy to see her ... even though Rachael is the one who gives her shots. I really can't recommend Dr Seth Dasho highly enough. My miniature dachshund, Scarlett, is almost 10 years old and has been blind for around 2 years. Scarlett and I have lived in the United Kingdom and in Florida and we just recently moved to San Francisco from London. Needless to say, with our various moves Scarlett has seen her share of vets. Seth is by far the most thorough vet Scarlett has seen and I am so glad I found Lotus! I should add we previously have been to Irving Vet here in SF and I was not impressed to say the least, but that's a story for another day. On every occasion Dr Dasho has seen Scarlett he has followed up a number of times via email (including after hours and on weekends) to check on her progress. I have never received this level of comprehensive service from any other vet. Peace of mind is a phrase I would use when describing my comfort with the care she has been given from Seth.  He is compassionate and you can tell he genuinely cares for animals and their health.  As odd as it may be, many vets don't come across with these qualities you would expect.Sure, you will pay more for a house call vet, but I am more than happy to do that knowing my baby is getting the best possible care with the least stress on both of us. Dr. Seth is a kind and thoughtful Veterinary doctor. I met him recently when Dr. Feigenbaum was out on maternity leave and my 20 year old was in need of compassionate end of life care. The office was quick to find a time for Dr. Seth and Susan (the Vet tech) to come to my home. Dr. Seth did not know me or my precious cat and took the time to really assess what was happening, what he saw, but also what I thought what was going on.  He let me know he was not rushed and didn't want me to feel rushed in the difficult decision I was about to make. I could tell he was very sensitive to her needs, watching her and trying to determine what was needed. It was quite moving to see him interact with her during her difficult time. He clearly LOVES animals and is great with them but also with their owners. While this was a difficult day, it was made better by knowing she was in good hands, with caring people who had her best interest in mind and who were so supportive of me as well. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Seth and the Lotus Veterinary House Calls team and I would highly recommend them to anyone looking for at home vet care for their pet. More...

It's easy to be suspect when 90% of the reviews are five stars and a few are one. So, I'll add my five to keep the balance right. We spoil our adopted cat Velvet. She has the best cat sitters: All Creatures Healing Network. They recommended Dr. Feignbaum and her associates at Lotus. I can't imagine putting Velvet back in the cat carrier she had to stay in for the journey from Nine Lives Foundation in Redwood City to her forever home in San Francisco. We know she was found in a bad part of R.C. with a broken leg and that tells us that her life before us wasn't easy.Back to the point of this review. I have no idea what other veteranary solutions cost. I just know that as long as Velvet lives - and that should be many more years - we will count on Lotus. We've had a couple of yearly check-ups and then there was the need for a shot (I've forgotten why already.) Having it all happen in the comfy environment of our house is worth the money and then some. They never seem in a rush to get to their next appointment (though you can count on them being a bit late and that is most likely why!) The additional advice on choice of food, vitamins and more is alsoninvaluable. If humans could have all their care at home we would do it. Yesterday my dear cat, Andy, and companion to my late Mom and late husband and then to me, was clearly in need of relief from the cancer that had sucked his personality dry,  robbed him of his beautiful coat and ability to move and rest comfortability and importantly had made breathing a chore.  Medication was no longer an option  - the facts, logic and kindness of helping him pass were clear and my tears constant.  That said, I called Lotus in the morning and at 2:30, Dr Seth Dasho and his assistant, Danielle arrived; With sincere care, sensitivity and medical knowledge, they reassured me of the  kindness and appropriate timing of my decision. Dr Dasho had even been in touch with my vet, (who didn't make house calls). He reviewed Andy's medical status, his recommendation and then he explained the procedure  that I knew would  best help Andy now. It was then with tender loving care and clear skill that together we supported Andy through the process, with Dr Dasho and Danielle  being sure I was ready for each step and clearly supporting me too along the way.  At the end, I was offered time alone with Andy and the hug from Danielle along with thoughtful recommendations as to what I should do for the remainder of the day was beyond expectations and served to exemplify the  total professionalism and personalization of the day. Max, my 13-year-old golden retriever, suddenly lost energy earlier this year and had difficulty walking distances owing to his arthritis.  I started acupuncture and other treatments with Rachael.  The treatments had a noticeable effect.  The real breakthrough came when Rachael diagnosed him as being low thyroid.  With the combination of thyroid and other meds, plus the acupuncture and laser therapy, he's fully recovered.  I have a happy and energetic dog who loves going outdoors again.  Rachael is a skilled and caring vet who uses both western and eastern medicine to develop treatments tailored to my dog.  And she comes to my home.  Doesn't get any better than that!
