What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The first determination is to find out what the client is looking for. Are the photographs for personal or professional/commercial use? Headshots, Modeling, Personal Portraits, Family, or Couples. Events, such as Engagements, Weddings, Anniversaries, Parties, etc. all require details that determine the scope and budget of each shoot.
Will the shoot require a specific location, outdoor or in a studio? Will the shoot require multiple people to assist? This could require a makeup artist and stylist. Will there be multiple looks, wardrobe changes, specific props, or different locations?
Will the client require photo retouching and color enhancement? What kind of prints are desired? Prints, framed photographs, canvas, acrylic, metallic, and/or complete photo books/albums. Digital downloads for use in multiple applications and so on.
All of the details must be discussed in advance prior to finalizing a proposal.

Bringing out the best in people. Showing each subject the beauty that they possess that perhaps they didn't know about prior to a photo session.
