Chuck was great to deal with for our wedding. The price was good and he was amazing at communication through the whole process.
Nick (the photographer) was also amazing! We ended up with over 1,500 pictures from a 6 hour shoot. Some shots were very creative and others were your classic wedding shots.
We couldn’t be happier we had Lewis Photography (and Nick) shoot our wedding!

Absolutely amazing! Chuck was always on the ball when working with us to get everything set up and organized and even gave us a flexible payment plan which was very much appreciated. And Nick, our photographer, called us beforehand to get all the details ironed out which was amazing too. On the day of our wedding, Nick was absolutely exceptional - his photos turned out so well and he was very professional and nice. We got a lot of our guests saying our photographer was amazing! Not to mention, our wedding was pretty far out of the way from where Lewis Portraits normally works, so their flexibility there was fantastic. These are excellent people to work with! I arranged to have a family portrait done. This involved 13 people ranging in age from 6 months to 78 years. The photographer had the patience of a saint and took a variety of shots in all different groupings. Chuck, the owner, answered all my questions, was very clear about what the cost would be and delivered the final product in a very timely manner. Our Mom’s Memorial Service. We found ourselves being faced with the passing of our beloved Mom and putting all the pieces into place while we live 1,200 miles away.
It was important for us to have a permanent record of Mom’s service and also the family and friends who were gathering.
After a lengthy search I found Lewis Portraits and made contact with Chuck Lewis, (Owner).
Chuck was instantly responsive to our need and most sincere in his compassion and kindness. We were immediately comforted in knowing that we were in very competent hands to have Mom’s Memorial Service video taped.
We were placed with one of Lewis’s top videographers, Dianne. She was very communicative prior to our Service; then, showed up even earlier than she was scheduled. She was very courteous to our needs as a family and graciously sought out what was most important to us .
Dianne was totally a professional and immediately went to work to prep the site and be ready for videotaping. We engaged her for an additional 2 hours.
We were so thrilled to learn that the editing was done immediately and Chuck ensure that it was mailed to us within one business week. We could not expect a better outcome form this company!
Lewis Portraits provided us with a finished product that was exceptionally well done, with the musical selection that we provided. What a beautiful and memorable record we now have for our family’s history .

What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Composition! Capturing in each image what is important for that Photograph to convey at your Event...so that even one image can potentially tell a story all by itself. We have on display at our Studio between 8 and 12 beautiful complete Wedding and general Event albums at any given time for Client's to see what style(s) we can offer. We also Upgrade and modifying our professional Equipment regularly to maintain 'cutting edge' topnotch capability and quality.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
How much of their special Event do they wish to capture. We offer packages that provide service for as little as 2 hour to 7 hours (and more). Do they have specific photographs in mind...have they considered appointing a Coordinator to assist in pointing out any special requests that they might have. What is their budget? We have many pre-set packages...or we can often custom design a package to meet nearly any budget. WE WELCOME ALL COMPETITVE BIDS...high quality work at affordable price is and has always been our way of doing business. We want to earn your business.
What do you love most about your job?
We take our work very seriously. We are often only given one chance to capture all the important activity. Although there is this high level of responsibility...it is nonetheless enjoyable and gratifying to often be called back by other Family members or friends for future Event coverages. In some cases we are called to return to an important Family Event for the Children or even Grandchildren of those from decades ago!
What inspired you to start your own business?
Our Father started our original Family Studio in 1937...over 82 years ago! After an exciting road-trip he took to California in 1936 he explored and was "bitten" by the Photography and Film 'bug'. It was the heyday of the old Hollywood film industry on the West Coast and Dad studied and brought back skills to start our Studio here in Michigan. Since then, we have served most of the Metro Detroit area...and Northern Ohio.

Why choose LEWIS PORTRAITS? Longevity for one reason. In operation since the 1930's. Photographers and Videographers who average 10 years to over 30 years of training and know-how experience. Up to date Photo and video equipment utilized. We still receive much of our business by 'word of mouth' advertising...we think that says a lot about our reputation. We welcome all competitor bids. Many may be matched or even beat. Good work at a fair price was Dad's core objective.
