The food was so good we are it all and forgot to take pictures. We had the fish and chips, mahi with a Longboard batter. Red wine beef stew with brown rice. Pork ribs with lilikoi BBQ sauce and olena rice. We tried the Halo Halo. We bought a poi banana bread to eat at home. And a refreshing Filipino lemonade. I'd buy all of it again. Planning on going back to try more soon. Lucky to have a place of this caliber in Kalihi. Food presented with care and the taste was fantastic. The mahi mahi for the fish and chips was ridiculously fresh. We ate the fish in the car, bc you don't get fried fish to go. Nice slaw with the ribs. Nice salad with the beef stew. After traveling all night and being under the weather, the day before our wedding, all we wanted was hot tea. The GPS continued to take us to incorrect destinations until we finally stumbled upon this gem! ! The minute we walked in we were treated with such hospitality. She immediately made a special tea and suggested a special dish to make us feel better before our big day. Many locals were in and out for lunch. Hidden gem! And unassuming from the street. Once you enter you can see that this is a quality establishment. It’s take out only with limited parking. The kitchen is separated by a window so you can see the cooks preparing your food. Always love that about restaurants. Their service was great, their food is amazing, and it’s very clean. I give Olena 5 stars. I just got the fish and chips and it was sooooo good! The Mahi Mahi was very juicy and fresh. Rose was very helpful explaining the menu and the business. I will definitely be back again!!

So very good! It was hard to decide what to order as everything is made from scratch and sounded amazing. I was going to have the Red Wine Beef stew, but it was sold out for the day. Chef Ron makes it over 2 days, nice and slow. The Filipino lemonade was the perfect light drink to complement the meal. Counter service only with no tables, but there is a counter you can stand and eat. Ample free parking. Chef Ron and his wife Rose were very friendly. Walk across the street after your meal and check out the Honolulu Chip Company for chips right out of the fryer. More...

Another "must visit" spot when in Hawaii. We had the pulled pork sliders and filipino lemonade...so delicious and so refreshing. Those hospitality was above and beyond. Thank you so much for taking care of us! We were looking forward to ordering food to take on the plane but we've learned a lesson...do not fly in or out on Sunday!
