In an actual sense, Landheim is a life savior! Despite being only 9 pounds, my small dog has a large personality and when combined with being deaf and having horrible cataracts, bathing and grooming are extremely intimidating to him. For the majority of his dog life, we had him groomed at a location in Highland. After the last few groomings, the dog has come home with such horrible personality changes that has made us question whether he needs to be put down. After a recent loss in the family, this was not an easy conversation. As a Hail Mary, we decided to give our a guy a chance at a new location for grooming. Simply put, Mark was unbelievable. My dog hates strangers, yet Mark was able to kneel right next to him and pet him upon meeting him, which gave me hope that this would work out well. He took his time and when I picked up my dog, he was in such good spirits that it was absolutely stunning. I can't thank Landheim enough for their compassion and understanding for my pet, because they truly made me feel that they truly respect a member of my family. I cannot say enough about the Landheim training team!!! My husband and I adopted our first puppy a Siberian Husky and signed her up for puppy kindergarten. The 4 week class was absolutely amazing! We were able to socialize our puppy with other puppy's. They not only help you with training but go beyond and explain different cages, leashes, and hygiene routines for your dog. Each time we walked in they were so excited to see Ghost and always remembered all the puppy's names! We signed up for the 6 week obedience class and that was beyond our expectations. The owner also made it a point to be at the classes and took time to address everyone's questions or concerns. If you are thinking of puppy classes or dog classes I highly recommend Landheim!!! I had my dogs bathed and groomed there. 1 of my dogs was scared and everytime they turned on the hair dryer she pooped. They ended up bathing her 3x. They went above and beyond! The groomer was so awesome. Fairly priced and great service. Definitely 5 stars More...

To expand on my five star rating...We've boarded our Hound/Shepherd mix Sammie with Landheim a few times now over the span of three years. Most recently at the beginning of October we took a week vacation somewhere we unfortunately couldn't bring Sammie along to. We were able to enjoy the vacation without worrying about her because we knew she was in good hands. Every time I drop her off she just about drags the front desk attendant to the back because she loves being there. I'm just glad she shows me the same excitement when I return to pick her up, haha. Boarding at its best. My pup is unpredictable. Can snap, however, this is never an issue with the Landheim staff. They welcome her with open arms and she walks in the door like she belongs there. I toke my Gsd/Doberman for one hour of private training. That hour has changed our lives. Now I can walk my dog any where with peace of mind. She doesn't growl at people or lunge at other dogs anymore. It has only been 2 days since the training toke place and each day it gets better ! Thank you to our personal trainer. Can't say enough great things about this facility! As the owner of a German Shorthaired Pointer, training is so crucial with high energy dogs. My trainer was professional, patient and kind and I came home with a dog that was much more obedient and we are all happier for it!! I recommend this facility to anyone who will listen! Landheim is wonderful for training. They teach you how to think like a dog which makes training much easier. I am always receiving compliments on how well behaved my dog is. The staff is wonderful and willing to help with any problems that you have and will go out of their way to help, even going outside during single digit temperatures to train my stubborn dog to jump into my vehicle. If you want your dog to be trained as though it were a human, this is not the place for you.
**Newsflash** Dogs are not people!
These folks TRAIN DOGS AS THOUGH THEY ARE DOGS working on/with a dogs natural behavior.
It is amazing how their methods get a dog to respond using their natural instincts which ultimately ends up making the dog and owner happier with each other.
The results can be dramatic.
Anyone with a problem pet should give these folks a try.
As far as boarding goes. This is the only place I will trust, especially with a large dog.
My only complaint is that they don't offer veterinary services :) They certainly undertsand my dogs behavior better than his doctor.

We brought our dog here based on word of mouth. Landheim has a great reputation in the area. We started with the basic obedience and then joined the advanced obedience class. It was a great experience. Everyone was pleasant to deal with and we learned a lot about our dog and how to handle him. I saw a review below about mistreating the dogs. I really find it hard to believe based on my experience. They are firm, but fair. They stress the importance of maintaining trust with your dog. A negative correction does not mean hitting...etc. And they dont seem to be impatient or overworked at all. More...

We took my 6 year old boxer there for training, after we got a new puppy. She has problems with dog aggression (not with puppies), pulled on leash and only sat or stayed when she wanted.
The people at Landheim were amazing!!! We trained with Kip and another woman. My dog would lash out at me and give me a warning bite (didn't hurt) whenever I would implement the training techniques because she is just so dominant. Kip was able to explain her behavior to me and even showed me a technique to help. By literally the next week, she was doing her commands perfectly, she was ignoring all the other dogs. By the end of the program, she was off leash, sitting 5-6 feet away from another dog, with me across the room. I could never have imagined she'd go from ferocious to listening to me in such a short course. The trainers never judged me for my dog coming in and being so out of control. They tell you what they know to work.
There were people in the class, who would openly not do what the trainers were telling them to do, or wouldn't work with their dogs during the week, or would say "they felt bad" telling their dogs commands or doing the tiniest correction. And these people complained about the program. If you are going to go somewhere and ask for help, and then not do anything they are telling you to do, and then you're dog doesn't take to the training, you can't blame the center!
These people genuinely care about dogs and want them to be safe, healthy and happy.

Instructors' method sometimes picks on people, I do not think they realize this. At times instructor says she will eventually teach or talk about something, and never gets to it. They do love dogs and will help you learn to control your dog and they have items which you can purchase that your dog can wear which will help you. If someone doesn't ask a clear question, an answer is not given that will help with the question's situation; however, the instructors are very helpful and encourage questions. Best to ask questions after class is over, though. Overall, they did help me with my dog, they are knowledgeable, helpful, have a nice, well stocked store, and a very clean, large training facility.
