Couples Counseling

I felt like I got immediate response a lot faster then I expect. I’m only doing search for help. Trying weigh out my options before finalizing. I didn’t opt in for a session or agree to a payment agreement yet. I still stand by the full stars because they are quick. I’m more than happy to say if the help I were to receive. It would be very beneficial. More...

Q&As

I have been blessed with the skills of helping others find themselves, as well as their best selves, and the coping skills to enjoy this journey that we call life. Someone who has dealt with her health, family situations, marriage, and a multiplicity of issues in my life. I have developed a tremendous coping mechanism to deal with all of life's bumps in the road. What I find about what I do so exciding, is helping others reach the point of happiness within themselves that I have found.

I have been an entrepreneur since the '80s; with the upstart, of Heavenly Wheels Transportation. I felt the need to offer the elderly and disabled door-to-door- transportation to and from their doctor's appointments. This company ran for 5 years. I had contracts with the Alamo Area Council of Governments, ( San Antonio, TX). The Parkinson's foundations, the Alzheimer's Association, the Texas Workforce Commotions welfare-to-work program. I sat on the chair of the TXDOT board on transportation for the elderly. I turned my company into a 501(3)c. Wrote my own grant. And who would of believe it all started with a flier, fax machine, and a phone book. Prior to the above, I was the Corporate Trainer for Franklin Chiropractic Centers. I created a Training Manual, Conducted two-week training seminars, and apart of the hiring process. I was in charge of seven clients. I have have been invited to conducted, several speaking engagements. Oakland CA. To speak at a fund-raiser for the Mandela-House (A Home for pregnant former addicts), Each year I was invited to address freshmen at Houston Community College, under the leadership of Professor Wanda Hobbs. I was invited back as an Alumni to the University of Houston/Downtown location, to sit on the panel of the International Gender-Bias Conference.

In graduate school, many of my fellow classmates, in our ethics class stated "I am in this field, to make money." When my professor posed an ethical question to the class; If you had a client that had just lost his job, would you stop seeing him? Would you work with him on a sliding scale, or would you refer him to a free clinic? While many of my classmates said, that they would have to refer him out, I spoke up and said that this client could be on the verge of a breakthrough. And that I would work with him because, after forming a therapeutic relationship I could not ethically nor morally send him away. Even my professor spoke with me after class. These were her words, " Ms. Valasquez, you probably have been a professional most of your life (she was commenting what we call ('ageism')." My response to her was that she did not know my life story. At one point I was homeless, sleeping in my car. Therefore, I could relate to individuals who have fallen on hard times. And coming to therapy was their only way of surviving what this journey we call life had dealt them. How could I turn them away?

In these troubled times, we are living with COVID-19 yet to be contained; As I suffer from M.S and two strokes. Anyone who is familiar with M.S my autoimmune system is very vulnerable. Therefore I choose to conduct my sessions online and remotely. Once our country returns to some normalcy, I will return to seeing clients both remotely as well as face to face.

At this point, I am strictly doing remote counseling and life coaching my online clients, as well as clients within my location. As far as my corporate motivational speaking, I too am conducting seminars online. Unless the corporation wants the four-hour workshop. At that point, I would come however I would wear a mark and require everyone in attendance to wear a mask. Hand sanitizer must be available at each person's seat. However, I would try my very best to do the seminar online.
