Kuhn Construction remodeled our living room by removing wood planking and sheetrock from the walls, reinsulating and replacing the sheetrock. They also reattached our stair rail. From John, the salesman, to Chip, the Project Manager, and especially Dave, the craftsman, and Joe, the helper, everyone at Kuhn was very professional, courteous, in tuned to our desires and very meticulous in their work. Kuhn Construction has been the company we have used over the past few years for all of our renovation needs. We completely renovated two full bathrooms and a kitchen.
What can I say? You will see the photos on their website. The workmanship is amazing. The team on all three projects were outstanding. From design to demo to completion; each step was managed professionally and will the expected results. I would absolutely use them again (and we are in a vacation home). They were over the top professional, as you get to know these guys working in your home. Excellent. In the past two years we have renovated two bathrooms plus our kitchen. From design to planning to creating the bathrooms and kitchen of our dreams, Kuhn Construction was the perfect company for us. Their professionalism is outstanding. Each phase all three projects (demolition, sheet rock, tile work, appliance installation, painting) were handled professionally and efficiently. Its difficult to go without any of these rooms for a period of time but Kuhn kept to the planned schedule and remained within budget. The Kuhn team recently transformed our den. They removed the thick marble wall face and crafted a beautiful fireplace, hearth and mantel. Woodworking and detail work were top of the line. Very clean very thorough ( added fireproof bricks ) and as a result a very happy homeowner. They do great work they are reasonable and on time. When I decided that I needed to have my bathroom gutted and remodeled, I was, of course, concerned with the cost. But also, as an individual working two jobs, I need a company that would come when they said they would, and be done when they said so. I was not disappointed with my selection of Kuhn Construction. They meet and often exceeded my expectations. They were punctual, polite, helpful, and knowledgeable. And clean! When they left for the day, even if they were in the middle of something, you saw no trace that they had even been there at all. Kuhn installled a new bathrom. We are very very happy with the end result.
The work was performed by people who knew their jobs, and excpet for electricians ( who neevr clean their mess) cleaned up their work at days end.

We intend to have Kuhn do more work at our home.
Kudos to this firm and all of their employess and independant contractors.

MY only question is; why are electricians such slobs? The work the electricians performed was excellant but it must be in their genes to be such slobs.

Again, Jeff you run a very marvelous construction firm ,and we will not hesitate to tell our friends who need construction work done, to use your firm.

My wife and I hired Kuhn to finish our basement, and we are thrilled with the results. They are a very professional and competent organization, so I would especially recommend them to anyone who has suffered through a "typical contractor" experience. The people at Kuhn were tremendously helpful in working with us to get an idea of what we wanted the finished basement to look like, putting together a plan to get it done, and then executing the plant to perfection. From the moment the job started, Brad (our project manager) was a pleasure to work with and was always happy to answer our questions or discuss the project. He and his crew were always professional and reliable. We used Kuhn Construction to complete 2 bathroom remodels in our Bay Shore NY home.Our past remodeling history was mostly do it yourself, family or we moved to a different house to get what we wanted. We are "aging in place" and needed these 2 bathrooms to be more functional, not to mention nicer. We were nervous about using a contractor, who would be in our home? what would the quality be like? how would issues be dealt with? How big a mess would it be? would there be unexpected expenses? I am happy to report, it was a great experience!Design assistance and product selection was made pretty simple. This was important to us, since we were overwhelmed by the number of choices that were available on the market. We were guided but not pushed toward choices that made the most sense, and on at least one occasion, prevented from making a bad decision.The staff assigned to our project were knowledgeable, and kept the work areas neat and clean, another thing that was important to us.We appreciated that any items we asked to have checked, or modified were addressed in a mutually acceptable manner and the communication between the team members was evident.Our project, as most, had some unexpected findings once the walls were down. The extra work was fairly priced and we felt partnered with professionals when things came up.We also liked the use of the Co-Construct Project Management tool for communication, it kept us all informed and provided before and after hours, non disruptive communication.Our new bathrooms are great, better than imagined. Kuhn Construction is the only company we would use for any work we need done. They helped us with renovations that needed to be done to bring our rental home up to code. They took care of electrical, plumbing, demolition, etc. The work was done quickly to meet our deadline and approved by the town inspector . The people who are employed by Kuhn in every capacity are friendly, polite, helpul and keep in constant touch throughout the entire time work is being done. The tenants who were at work during the repair and renovation found them to be trustworthy and gave them access to their home.
In addition to the code work Kuhn also renovated the bathroom at the same home. Each step of the way from the demolition to the installation of the new they met with us, and helped us through the process. The office staff as well as the construction staff from the project manager to the painter are top notch.

Our 4th experience with Kuhn Construnction, this time for a kitchen remodel. Previously, they renovated 3 bathrooms for us, and did other miscellaneous work. We highly recommend them if you are considering a design/build firm.

Remodeling is stressful, they ease the pain by being completely expert and reliable. They show up when expected, and communicate the schedule very clearly. The schedule is maintained. They protect our home from the inevitable construction debris and are very careful of your property; we trust them with our most valuable asset, our home.

They listen to their customers, provide excellent options for materials and their staff are true professionals. Our new kitchen is beautifu!

Absolutely recommend Kuhn Construction. My husband and I worked with Kuhn for a house renovation project. We added a LARGE addition to the house, created an open living space in the interior which required reworking the space, added a brand new kitchen, gutted the 2 baths and added a new 1/2 bath, as well as a laundry room. In addition, the renovation required extensive plumbing and electric work. Construction crew was patient with us (including 2 dogs....) as we lived through sheetrock dust, no kitchen, countless decisions and tiny, interim living space during one of the coldest, snowiest, winters on record. The entire project took about 6/7 months. We were very pleased with the design, the quality (you get what you pay for), and the personal attention. Time estimates were spot on. The budget increased only because we made several changes along the way that we deemed important. A job well done! More...
