Kris worked with us as photographer, capturing images, moments and memories of a very important and special business event held June 2nd in Cedar City. As organizers of the SendOutCards Road Tour event, in Cedar City, event, three of us were running around attending to last minute details and welcoming our internationally respected speakers as well as our special guests from the area. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
Getting my clients to be comfortable with me is key to a great photograph!! I can invest all the time and money into equipment and education but if I can't connect with my clients on a personal level - it's that much harder.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
What do you expect from me? I like everyone to be on the same page - with everything from payment details and contract small print, to what a session is like. But I need to know what it is they expect from me.
What do you love most about your job?
Creating lasting memories! I love to see the smiles on my clients' faces both during a session and after, when we get to review their photos and make decisions on which ones they want to keep!
What inspired you to start your own business?
When I had our son, I looked into getting newborn pictures done but couldn't afford anyone's prices (especially since he was sick and required special care for the first little while). So I invested in decent starter camera and documented everything I could. I finally decided that this was something that I really enjoyed and wanted to pass along the same opportunity to others. So I invested in top-of-the-line equipment and education and put together an experience that others can enjoy!
