The food was excellent, service was friendly, and atmosphere clean, light, and welcoming. As first time visitors, we did not know what to expect from this place but overall, we were pleasantly surprised. They do amazing things with plantains, yucca, and overall presentation is excellent. Went with MJR, and the staff is so wonderful and their apps are fantastic! Their outdoors is so welcoming to enjoy coffee, wine whatever they have to offer, and they don't discriminate against your four legged friend; reminds me of Austin, people friendly with their furever friends..well behaved, where eatery's welcome to accommodate everyone! Wonderful restaurant, but I wish they had more parking! The food was outstanding, the service as well. Joel, our server, was extremely attentive and helpful. We had the ceviche as an appetizer, and it was just right. A pleasant surprise in it were the "home made" corn nuts; they added a good bit of crunch to the plate. The pizza was excellent. The ingredients in it were fresh and the crust was just perfect! We had cheesecake for dessert, it looked so good I forgot to take a picture of it. Great place on main! More...

It was my first time coming here and it has been the best place I’ve ever eaten. The food is delicious and the staff is incredibly nice. Their pizzas are made in a wooden ovens and they are made with all natural ingredients. Their ceviche is delicious and their food has so many spices that compliment each other in a lovely way. First of all, I'm Peruvian so I'm very judgmental of Peruvian ceviches since I've been eating them since birth, haha. I've been to Kocina 5 times already, and I gotta admit that Kocina's Peruvian ceviche is one of the best ones I've had in Texas. They use corvina fish (native from Peru) so it makes the ceviche as native as it could be, it also has the right amount of citric and aji; they serve it with canchita (Peruvian popcorn) and Peruvian corn. The lomo saltado is also very tasty, the rib eye is super soft and flavorful. Overall a great place to have lunch and dinner. Oh and the customer service is outstanding!
