What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
A great photo is felt more than seen. It's one that evokes an emotional response from the viewer. In order to capture a moment in time that speaks to your emotions it's necessary to open yourself up to the feelings of those you're working with. To capture not only a glimpse of people but a special feeling shared with the viewer.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
The questions I ask help me to understand my client, not just their want's but also who they are. What makes them happy. What special relationships they enjoy, their fondest memories, favorite pastimes. The purpose of my questions help build a relationship that leads to better photographs.
What do you love most about your job?
I love people. Being able to feed my family by meeting and interacting with others is a rewarding career. Being a part of the special moments in people's lives is a blessing.
What inspired you to start your own business?
I was always inspired by great photography. My passion to rise to the level of some of the greats continues to inspire me on a daily basis. Being able to provide a service that is such an important part of others lives has inspired me to make a business from it.
