I sought Mitch’s help for general training (basic commands, leash etiquette) and for socialization. My dog is an 18-month old rescue Pit mix who lacked discipline and confidence; daily walks were a challenge, with lots of pulling, and while super people-friendly, she has been ‘dog selective’ / ‘dog reactive,’ which had been particularly difficult to manage.After a one-month ‘board + train’ program with Mitch, my dog is a new dog. Walking her is now a pleasure - no more pulling (!!!), and she is much more ‘in tune’ with me, letting me guide the walk rather than trying to lead the way for both of us… Mitch also recognized that my dog’s ‘reactivity’ was not aggression at all, but rather excitement that she just didn’t know how to channel. Through daily interaction with her own dogs, controlled exposure to new dogs at the dog park and positive reinforcement for appropriate (calm) responses, Mitch gave my dog a positive foundation for good behavior. Mitch has also armed me with the tools that I need to reinforce here at home what my dog learned with K9 Pawsitive Training + to continue her training, building her confidence - and mine. This is an ongoing effort, and my dog’s progress has been astounding; since she came back 4 weeks ago, I’ve seen continued improvement each day, and I couldn’t be more pleased. My rescue dog Bear has been K9 Pawsitive Training for more than a month and he is a changed dog. He used to be very distracted, excited, pull on a leash, not like cats. Now he is very patient and knows how to control his excitement. He doesn’t care when he sees a cat and he will just ignoreMitch is very knowledgeable with dog behavior. She can train puppies and the most difficult dogs.She does training and boarding at her house. and has a nice backyard so the pups can play . We love Mitch with K9 Pawsitive training. She is fostering a dog for us that was literally thrown away in a dumpster! She is potty training him and working with him on his resource guarding issues and fears of abandonment. I found Xena after looking at the rescue pops in search of a emotional support dog as well as a working dog. After speaking with Mitch, her trainer about her I knew Xena was meant for me. Even today Mitch is always there willing to answer my questions and even give me tips as I send her videos on how Xena is doing. Her methods WORK! I was frustrated at first because we did not see improvement. Mitch kept reassuring us that it takes time and with time our dog will listen. We started with boundary training for a couple of months. Although our issue was walking lol but we didn't know about how problems stem for dogs so we just listened. Once boundaries were established it was SO MUCH EASIER TO WALK HER! I am writing this today because I thought this day would never come but our dog did AMAZING on her walk today.
