Today was my pup's first grooming at Johnny's Doghouse.  Jody groomed my Lily and she did a great job. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she looked beautiful when I picked her up. I love the vibe here. Very comfortable and easy going. For a stray at a pound, my dog did very good with them here. They know how to treat your pet well and they know their cuts! My pup came out looking like a brand new dog. They top him off with a tropical spray and lei, and send him off. I think their pricing is competitive. This is the second time I have taken my two girls (yorkie and German Shepard) and they never come back scared but super happy. Their hair cut is beyond perfect. I love bringing them here! Every time I would take them else where they would come home with a horrible cut and terrified. This business cares about animals. We recently just moved to Gilbert and needed to board our dogs for a few days while we were away. I chose Johnny's Doghouse based on the other reviews and was fairly pleased after initially calling to book. They were super friendly and knowledgeable on phone when booking and provided confirmation follow ups via email & text. Once leaving our two puppies (9 month old Golden Retriever & 10 month old Australian Shepherd) we knew they were In good hands. We received videos of them out playing during the day and if we had any questions, we would just call and always got response. I can’t begin to say enough praise to the staff here. My 10 month old rescue is QUITE a hand full I learned, but they worked with him and want to keep working with him to make him more comfortable in the grooming environment. When I first saw the store front I didn't pay any mind because it says "Doghouse" but they do take cats as well! My kitty has anxiety about going out (he is a rescue) so I wanted a place that he would feel more comfortable in after several terrible visits with Petsmart. Our first visit was wonderful! Nicest grooming salon I’ve been to in years, friendly, professional and courteous in every way. Kind,patient, and caring with their fur clients. Alo's is now Johnny's. We took our (VERY furry) himalayan cat here after receiving some quotes from groomers in the area. It's hard to find someone we can trust with our Buster but they were great with him. He had a bad knot in his car that they were able to work around without hurting him which really made us happy (and Buster happy too I'm sure!) The staff at Johnnys Doghouse was so friendly and welcoming! I brought in my chihuahua who is not friendly and semi-aggressive towards strangers, yet she was welcomed in with open arms! The rates for bathing/nail clips/ear cleaning are very much affordable. My piper smelt so amazing and her teeth and breath are so much better. When I picked piper up she did not seem upset she genuinely seemed like she had a good time- especially for being a irritated dog. As you might imagine, as a Pet Stylist of 22 years myself, I have high expectations and a critical eye when evaluating another grooming shop. Well. I'm speechless. Johnny's has it ALL. We are so happy every time we take Leo in to see our friends at Alo’s. They are a fun, dog-loving, professional team and the shop is welcoming and clean. The last time I cam in to pick up Leo after his appointment, I was surprised to find him hanging out in the front with Johnny, the new owner. Turns out, they’re really good friends now, Johnny got all the Leo kisses to prove it!If you haven’t had the pleasure of meeting the new owner, make sure you stop in and say hello. I have an older poodle who is prone to separation anxiety. When I take her to Alo's she settles right down. She leaves looking beautiful. She has old lady bumps and the very capable groomers treat her gently and with great care so the won't tear or cut the bumps. The parking lot is limited but I've never had a problem with it. Our family is new to the area and when it was time to get the dogs groomed, we were just randomly looking and found Alo's Grooming. All 3 dogs have warmed up to the staff and we have been three times so far. They are gentle, thorough and take the time to get the best groom. When we pick up the dogs they all look great and add smell clean. Today, I was checking out and the lady taking my payment was holding Brody, I got so tickled to see him happily licking her face.
