Q&As

There are no secrets to taking a great photograph, but the results of someone taking a great photographs consistently as a professional, is the result of thousands of photos and consistent study, as well as trial and error, applying what they learned before a photographer can guarantee to their clients, that the photos we take will result in superior technical quality and superb images that have something special and/or unique, that will make people stop and take a second look.

My photo library of images numbers just over 500,000 images now (and those are just the wedding photos that I've shot), so I don't have to ask much. But my number one goal is always to please the clients that hire me. And in order to do that, I make sure that I know exactly what their expectations are, since it's always my desire to exceed them.

That's the most difficult question. There's so much to love about what I do. I'd have to say that when I work with someone, or a couple, and they're ecstatic over the results that we jointly achieve, that's what I live for: to please people with the work that I do for them.

I took my first photo at the age of 7, of my parents sitting on the beach together in Hawaii, using an old camera. Something happened when I saw the results of that image, and it has stuck with me from that moment, and my desire to be the very best that I can be at this craft known as photography, has only grown over the years.

Because I care, more than anyone I have ever known or met. And if they knew how much I care, how hard I work and how much I am committed to excellence, and in pleasing them, they would all hire me. : )

As a photographer, I have to be in person. However, I do travel a lot to reach the clients that choose to hire me.

I protect the people that hire me by always wearing a mask-no matter what. And I tend to maintain a safe distance from other people in as much as I can, by using a longer lens than pre-Covid. However, it's not my job to police how others handle themselves during these difficult times. Lately, there are times when I'm the only one still wearing a mask while on a wedding. But that's OK since everyone has to take responsibility for themselves and their own health and well-being.

Services

I've shot over 575 weddings as a photographer since I started my business on January 1, 2010, which has provided me with an extensive amount of knowledge, skills and experience shooting all types of weddings including many many religious ceremonies, and include Russian and Ukrainian Weddings, Middle Eastern Weddings, Indian Weddings and many additional Ethnic Weddings. While I am fully capable of shooting both wedding photography and videography, I cannot shoot both at the same time.

I have 10 years of video production and television experience, and usually on weddings clients hire me to be in the lead role of still photographer. However, I’m more than capable of shooting wedding videos, especially when you take into account the 3 years that I worked on Country and Contemporary Christian music videos, and the 7 years after that, when I worked as the creative director and senior producer at the Shop At Home Television Network, where I created all commercials, on-air promotions and corporate videos.

I photograph pregnant Moms and their babies, as well as children, teens, and adults from every walk of life. I shoot portraits and head shots for just about anyone, for any reason including real estate, attorneys, health care, fitness, celebrities and more. While 99% of the photos displayed here on Bark are related to weddings, I have many additional categories of photography including portraits and head shots on my website at: www.joegaudetphoto.com

While living in Nashville, I worked at a pre-press graphics company where I worked as a retouching specialist for several major record labels and many Country, and Contemporary Christian recording artists.
