I called J&I for a very small project - replacing 3 curtain rods - and was very pleased with the service. JJ answered the phone right away when I called - that's the sign of a professional that values their clients. It was easy to set up an appointment. Javier the installer was on time, very pleasant, knowledgeable, and had meticulous attention to detail. He spackled holes left behind by the old rods and used heavy-duty bracket screws in case I wanted to put up a heavier drape in future. I would definitely call them again for another drapery project. I am extremely satisfied with the high-quality custom products I have received from J&I Custom Drapes, which includes gorgeous red drapes and a hand-made upholstered bed and headboard in midnight navy velvet for the master bedroom; a re-upholstered rocking chair that my mother-in-law used when my husband was young ; and custom yellow drapery for our Beacon Hill living room. JJ's warm, upbeat personality and her extensive knowledge of drapery and rods make it a pleasure to work with her and her team directly, and she has also coordinated seamlessly with our designer. Turnaround time has been amazing: she's helped us meet some very tight timelines, while always maintaining her precision and attention to detail--whether in hanging the rods, hemming the curtains to account for uneven floorboards, or the craftsmanship of the upholstery. J&I upholstered my antique french bed. I was nervous about letting just anyone do the job but JJ, the project coordinator, came to my home and intuitively understood my vision for the piece. She gave me expert advice about fabric choices, had the bed dissembled and then reassembled in my home when the job was complete, and she coordinated bedding, pillows, and window treatments that have transformed my bedroom. The upholstery has top quality piping and a finished look that rivals the most expensive upholstery available, but at a very reasonable price. I was so happy with JJ's taste and the quality of her work that I had JJ make custom drapes for my living room. I discovered JJ's shop through thumbtack, and I'm so glad I did. JJ is an extremely customer-oriented, very likable and professional, a great communicator, and someone I would do business with again in a heartbeat. My project was somewhat unusual---combining six smaller drapery panels into two larger panels, with both vertical and horizontal seams. The finished panels, on which there is a complex pattern, match the pattern beautifully and have virtually invisible seams. Excellent work on these, and I'm very happy with the outcome. But what I value beyond this is the thoughtful way JJ brought us through the process with unflagging confidence, a can-do spirit, and the experience needed to ask the right questions at the right time. I remodeled my entire sitting room and had the pleasure of having J&I create curtains and shades for my room. They are incredibly knowledgeable and helpful in picking out fabrics and creating a gorgeous setting for a restful room I desperately need. I found them to be extremely professional and personally engaging. They were a joy. When I was stressing, they were de-stressing me. Now I have my beautiful room that I can enjoy which is both visually and physically appealing. I would definitely recommend them--highly. I can't say enough about this team. J &I has provided me with truly outstanding service. The company's knowledge about fabrics and, how they work together (or not) is vast.
The principal always offers options and creative ideas. This company's attention to detail is impeccable. The principals listened to my unique needs (I have a lot of pets) and always offered helpful suggestions. When my furniture with slipcovers was delivered everything was perfect...not a single bump or ripple...very impressive work.

JJ and Irma are very professional. We have done custom drapes and upholstered chairs and benches with them _ See the pictures attached. The quality is exceptional. J and I custom drapes and upholstery do amazing work. I have been using them for over 2 years and there is never any issues.
They have done all my window treatments, bedding and upholstery. They even carry a beautiful assortments of fabrics.
They are wonderful to work with. Their biggest concern is that all their clients are happy. I have enjoyed working with them and I am proud to say that we have established a wonderful working relationship!

In December 2013 a Holiday Designer Showhouse was held at the Endicott Mansion Glen Magna Farms Danvers Ma. The property is owned by the Danvers Historical Society.
Fifteen Interiors Designers transformed this remarkable property which not only honored the past history of the mansion but added a bit of fresh modern appeal. The event was attended by over one thousand guests and published in numerous newspapers design magazines and on all of the social media channels. I was the Chair for this show. I am by trade an interior designer and member of the historical society.
I have enjoyed a professional relationship with J & I Custom Upholstery for several years. J & I Custom Upholstery participated in the Showhouse producing (for the Designer of the Drawning Room) the most outstanding unique and graceful window treatments in the mansion. Not only are the treatments visually beautiful the very construction of each aspect of every drape demonstrates a technical knowledge found only in years of experience in the field of fine design.
I have utilized the talents of J & I on other projects I have done in the past. One in particular was a room I designed at the York Showhouse in York Maine. Again the quality of this work reflected the companies creativity and professionalism.
In summary I believe this company has the versatility technical capability insight and high standards necessary to meet the sometimes rigorous demands often found in the field of fine interior design.

As an interior designer, I had a client who has a number of cats and after renovating her living room with all new furnishings, the client wanted to slip cover all the upholstered pieces to protect them from the cats. J&I Custom Drapes and Upholstery did a beautiful job creating custom slip covers that fit each piece of furniture uniquely like a glove. I will definitely be using them again on my next project. When we decided to have our living room area done, a friend had recommended this company to work with. Upon explaining our vision for the room, the designer took her time to find the right fabric, design, accessories and price to match our style and design for the room. She gave us a quote ( which was reasonable) and time to deliver. The service was warm, friendly and professional. When the job was completed, we had them do another 6 rooms in our home. I am so happy with the quality of the work that was done and would recommend this company to everyone I know who is getting window treatments added to their home.
