Jennifer did our wedding on 9/13/19. When I say she did an amazing job I mean it!!!! She captured some of the most beautiful moments. I have never seen such amazing pictures of my dad then in our father daughter dance. We were blessed to have Jennifer take family pictures a few years back and immediately fell in love with her work. Jennifer is an extremely talented photographer. She just took our wedding pictures and we have loved the sneak peeks we have seen thus far. Jennifer has this knack for taking genuine photos. She never has to work hard at posing or making sure there are smiles. Everyone has this natural glow when she's around. When she is behind the camera she naturally finds the beauty of every moment. I had the most wonderful experience working with Jennifer Burks Photography! We booked with Jennie for our maternity photo shoot. I’m not always comfortable having my picture taken, and I was also worried about my husband whose “posed picture smile” can be stiff and look in-genuine. However, Jennie put us both at ease instantly and the result was the most natural looking and gorgeous pictures of us we have ever had taken!! I cannot express how much of a joy it was to work with Jennie! She has such an incredible eye for photography and helps make the poses look so natural. She is super personable, was so flexible, and such a lifesaver. Our photographer fell through last minute and we hired her A WEEK before our big day. She really took into account parts of Jon and my personality/relationship that made the pictures look natural and not forced. After the guests left the next day, the adrenaline of the weekend was wearing off, it was awesome to have a sneak peak available. I can’t wait to see the rest of the pictures. What’s the secret to taking a great photograph?
A clean photograph with little background distraction. I like my subjects to be the main focus of the photograph, not images behind them.
What questions might you ask a client when starting a new project?
I like my clients to share their vision with me. I am very flexible and always open to new ideas.
What do you love most about your job?
The freedom and flexibility to be outside, meet new people, and use my creativity to its fullest.
What inspired you to start your own business?
My children and my love for art. I went from being a life coach for Northwestern Hospital to having my baby girl and being blessed to stay at home with her. Though being a mother is my number one love and priority, my passion and skill for photography was put into action once she was born and I turned it from a hobby to a business.
