We recently booked our son's newborn photoshoot with J. Stud and couldn't be happier. Both Jon and his wife Carolyn were great with our 6-week old son, and got some amazing pictures (even with him being awake for most of the shoot). I typically don't leave reviews, but Jon and his wife were great! I contacted them for my brother who was doing a surprise proposal. He was always very responsive and helped every step of the way. The night of the proposal he sent photos right after( they were awesome) and then sent the rest the following day. We couldn't have asked for a better couple to help capture the special moment. My daughter and her husband live in NYC and wanted a small family wedding. I was flying in from the midwest and wanted to make sure that the memories would be captured and saved by a good photographer. We hired Jon with J.Stud Studio. We didn't get a good photographer, we got an excellent, passionate, committed, and creative photographer. I feel so blessed that Jon contacted me right away after I inquired (just a week before the wedding) and luckily for me, he had an opening in his busy schedule to give us the couple hours we needed. Hello! I am from Ohio and was determined to have our engagement pictures taken in New York City! I looked for weeks online (google, yelp, the knot, Instagram etc. ) searching for a style I liked that fit my budget. After weeks of disappointment, I turned to the one thing that never fails me...Pinterest. I was looking for inspiration when I realized that photographers websites were attached to all the engagement pictures I was looking at. That is how I found Jon. From the second I reached out to him every transaction was professional, punctual and beyond pleasant. We exchanged a couple emails before talking on the phone to discuss further details including outfit changes and locations. After hanging up, it was a no brainer to me. He was nice, informative, within our budget and wasn’t annoyed at all by my intent to have 3 outfits and 3 locations! Lol Luckily, he suggested a rain date in case we had bad weather n good thing he did because we were only in town for four days and ended up having to use our rain date instead. We spent 3 hours with him from 730 am to about 1045. It was early and cold but it didn’t stop him from delivering everything I could’ve hoped for and more. He had our photos to us by the next day and I almost couldn’t believe them. He captured every bit of my fiancé n I in every outfit and background just like I pictured. This guy. WOW. Best photographer NYC Hoboken. My new bride's family is from NYC. We flew up to Hoboken for our wedding. He shot a few engagement photos of us along with a portrait / fashon shoot of the brides maids.

I'm sure their are a lot of good photographers in the NYC area, but being somebody from out of town we couldn't really meet with him prior. He totally made us comfortable and was willing to Skype with us as many times as she wanted to go over our plans. On the day of the wedding he was early and was super professional (he and his helper have a great eye for details).

I've never written a review before but I just back from our honeymoon and got a gift from him with some extra photos and LOVE them so much I figured the best way I could say "THANK YOU JOHN" is to reach out and say YOU ARE THE BEST!!! More...

Being from the Hoboken area, I hired Jon for my engagement shoot since he was also local and would really understand the best areas to capture our photos as well as the areas that were important to us. He had multiple cameras to take all different type of photos and such creative, fun ideas so that we didnt end up with the typical cheesy photo album.

Needless to say, the portraits were more than we imagined based on this experience and because we were still in the process of searching for a wedding photographer, we hired him for our wedding as well. One of the easiest and best decisions we made. Our church was in Hoboken and the reception was in Manhattan and Jon was so accommodating to us and punctual (always early!) to every single change in location and in the schedule for the day. He handled everything with ease and made everyone so comfortable throughout the day from the posed family shots to the candid dance floor fun.

Hiring Jon and his team was one of the easiest and best decisions we made and we now have portraits and pics of the best days of our lives including all of our loved ones who celebrated with us. More...

Jon was simply fantastic. My wife and I wanted to take family photos with our two puppies, an 8-week old and an 8-month old. As you can imagine, they were not very cooperative. Jon handled the whole shoot with professionalism, understanding, patience, and kindness, promising that we would get at least a few good shots. Choosing our wedding photog/ videographer was a HUGE decision for my husband and i (who was just as involved with planning as I was - and hey, we still got married after that! Lol). This is the decision that helps you capture that special day and let's you look back and remember it as if you were still there. All of the planning and details are remembered through your photos so we were very careful when selecting J.
