If you don't like feeling like you went to someone's house for a delicious vegetarian home cooked meal, this place isn't for you. Ithal Kitchen is definitely a VIBE, a laid back special tasty vibe. No one is rushing and that adds to the flavor. Every ingredient is giving space to shine and your stomach leaves oh so delighted. I love walking to and from Ital Kitchen - I always know no matter how indulgent I want to be here everything is healthy for the most part. Their fresh juices and shakes are amazing come thruuu!! There lunch special is delicious and dinner menu packs a lot. The kitchen is very close to the inside seating so you can always peek in and see your meal being prepared or chat with the people preparing your food.Don't be afraid to ask questions. One of my favorite places to eat in NYC everything is freshly made, well seasoned with awesome flavors, the staff is amazing, you can see the chef/owner make your food. This space is small, cozy and beautiful. In the summer time the backyard is the place to be, its beautiful and great vibes. I really love it here one of my favorite dishes is the Salmon dinner and the baked plantains. More...

Wow. I randomly stopped here and instantly fell in love with Ital Kitchen. It was a quiet night and I was eating by myself so it was the perfect atmosphere to do some thinking with music playing in the background. The food was beyond delicious. I had the Thai-Fi Stew. It was so filling but I didn’t feel stuffed afterwards like after I eat something unhealthy. And the Gingerade is so so good. Like a lemonade but with ginger. I live in NJ but will definitely come back soon. More...

Had the baked plantains, thai stew and veggie jerk chicken for dinner. Everything tasted excellent, though we both liked the thai stew the most. Excellent service. The chef herself served our dishes. Very homely feel. Small i door seating. Had a nice larger outdoor patio area. I'd definitely come back to try the rest of the items here. More...

What an amazing restaurant. The staff are friendly and ready to advise on the menu. The dishes are freshly made and so you may have to wait longer than other establishments but have patience, it's worth the wait. We ordered the jerk chicken, red stepper, Jack fruit curry and stir it up nice. All served with rice. And to finish the baked plantain. The four of us left fully satiated. If the weather's good sit out in the patio in the back. Can't wait to return. More...

Delicious vegan-friendly Caribbean food in a snug & colorful atmosphere. The staff are super friendly. There are only 1 or 2 people working in the kitchen, so food may take a bit of time to come out, but you can really tell they care about the quality of their dishes. Also they are plastic-free! If you're in Crown Heights, definitely check out this wonderful spot. More...

This place is great! I've only been there a couple of times because I'm not in the area much but I always go after the Brooklyn Museum because they're so close. I've tried the stew along with a couple of rice dishes and they were all so delicious. The cook actually brought us our food both times! I love the ambience at this place, so chill but such high quality and unique flavors. Also yay for black run vegan establishments! More...

A friend bookmarked this place and we walked in off of a whim. The outside seating is cute and very cozy, feels like you're eating out back of a friend's place. I'll jump right in and say that the food is DELICIOUS! We got the Kale salad for the table and they should seriously bottle and sell the dressing. It was THAT good. The food took a little longer than we anticipated and the hostess agreed that service is still improving but once I put a morsel of the Veggie Jerk Chicken in my mouth it all became well worth the wait. It was orgasmic to say the least. I'm already thinking about getting in again. If you're in the area and have some time to kill then I would definitely stop by here. Highly recommend. More...

First off, lemme just say, the food here is superb! We had a spicy green thumb salad for starters, which had a delicious vinaigrette drizzled on top and all the vegetables were fresh and made to order. For an entreé, we had the salmon with rice pilaf. When the salmon arrived to the table, it was plated with perfection. Every detail was put into place skillfully as if it came from the hands of a master chef. What was even better than the craftful aesthetics was the taste. Everything on the plate was magnificent: the sauce, the spinach, the fruit and the salmon. They all complemented each other. The salmon was charred flawlessly. To finish off, we ordered the sweet plantain. It was the ripest, sweetest, most delicate and savory end to our meal. Hats off to the chef who prepared everything by himself to order. I highly recommend this clean, laid back establishment to anyone looking for the perfect meal. More...

There aren't enough POSITIVE words in the English dictionary to use when discussing my experience with Ital Kitchen - but I will try. I've been going to this quaint eatery for more than 5 years and it's turned into my second home. I can always count on Chef Mikey to make me DELICIOUS vegan / pescatarian options (seriously - he can cook me dirt and I would eat it because everything he makes is DIVINE), great energy (the patrons are always so positive and friendly), and wonderful music (Chef plays great roots reggae and jazz). This is the perfect place for GNO, date night, or even solo nights out! I love the inside and especially love the outside courtyard where I'm able to enjoy the fresh air and feel like I'm in an exclusive part of BK. IK is very near and dear to my heart and I will SCREAM nothing but positive reviews for this little gem of mine :). More...

My nephew and his wife were in town for the weekend and they're both vegan, so I decided to take them dinner with some other family members making it a party of 6. They had the "Thai fi Stew" and the "Red Stepper" and raved about it. I had the "Jam Down Salmon". The "Yes I" drink is a must try, which is Açai berry, sea moss and mango blended. We had a very lovely experience, food was excellent and our hostess a delight. It's definitely worth a second trip. More...

Definitely try this place. Â I had the "jerk chicken" and it was well seasoned with a variety of herbs and spices and soft and chewy. Â I liked the spicy flavors. Â Try the yellow plantains as well. Â They were soft with a moist texture on the inside. Â The sugar that hardens on the outside is a nice touch!I want to eat in as it is a nice setup to have the kitchen open to everyone dining in. Â If they ever move to a new bigger location, keeping that element would be a plus for me and maybe others as well. More...

Never judge a book by it's cover! Don't blink cause you might miss the place. You can tell the place is small from the outside but it makes up for it in flavor. Wow. I ordered the "Red Steppa" which is a play on Red snapper and boy I tell ya. You can taste the pimento, ginger mix throughout the dish. I also ordered the spinach soup. A little skeptical at 1st but definitely not disappointed once I tasted it. Hint of spice but big on taste. My only criticism is the size. Felt a little crammed. However don't let that deter you from eating in or taking out. You can see the chef prepare your dish so you know it's coming out hot and fresh. Staff was very friendly. I will be supporting it in the near future. Take my word for it. On top of that it's black owned so I must support it. More...

I have so much to say about this place that I am going to have to revisit this post, but what an amazing dining experience. Although I am a meat eater, my date wasn't, so I chose this establishment based on reviews and proximity to my job. I am glad I did. The setting is cozy and intimate, the food made with the freshest ingredients and love... I know that because I watched the chef prepare it from my seat. The lone waiter was also wonderful, cordial and attentive. The only thing I would advise is to ask about the spices, because I was blindsided by the anise seed in my "steak," but what delicious steak it was. More...
