Originally we wanted to go to east dumpling house for karaoke... ORIGINALLY...I was told they had a deal, if you spend a certain amount on food you get 2 hrs free for a small room - But even if you didn't eat anything it'll be $30 per room. When we arrived they said" it is now raised to $40, do you want it or not?" In a very half hearted rude tone- the lady at the bar then proceeds "Only Large rooms left, $75 ". My party and I did not like the vibe of selective received, so we decided to leave and head over to IRock. About an addition 20min drive but was worth it.  We arrived around 9:30, it was busy hours I'm assuming. The place was filled with people. We asked for a small room, the gentlemen said it'll be $35 an hour, he then proceeds and said we only have large rooms left, BUT will still only charge us $35. We got a room upgrade with the same price as a small. How awesome is that. The service here was amazing. We had a lot of difficulties, for instance it was really hot in the room, so we asked for it to be off, and our mics made lots of static noises, and needed to be fixed. They were gladly to do so. Quick and efficient service.The girl who was working bar, was super helpful. She totally knew her job. She was so kind to help us. Food and drinks here are very overpriced. I suggest eating first. Water bottles cost $2 per person. The song selections were good but can be limited could definitely be upgrade with a wider selection. Huge tip * if you check in on yelp, you can get a 10% COUPON!!! Great food. Wonderful atmosphere. Friendly staff... if you want this experience, avoid the bartender Tre. Supposedly hes the GM today i saw nothing but immaturity. He slammed a water picture, breaking it to pieces feet from my face while taking his anger out. He non stop bullied his coworkers obviously dealing with his own issues threatening them with being writen up for not doing their job when clearly they were serving plenty of customers properly. Slamming doors and appliences from inside to out. The guy was just rediculous. Once i found out he was the gm it was a wrap. They need to do something about this guy. Ive nothing but good tomes at irock accept for when this " general manager" is there.. after talking to some regulars outside i was informed this is a common behavior for the guy. I came here with my friends and OMG! This place is amazing! There was no one there when we went (around 9:30 pm) which was awesome for us lol but it was an awesome experience for us. Trevaughn the bartender was there for the night and he was really friendly and helpful to us. We spent the whole night singing our hearts out with Trevaughn and eating yummy food! Song selection is eh... Not many English songs. Bar and Rooms are nice, clean and cool. Water was brought to us for free. We were a group of girls which caused old men to continuously walk past our room peeking in (just to be aware) Parking is big but this place is really small and hidden so finding it was quite hard to find. Overall pleasant experience.

I just rented a room on Friday (July 19th) for my wife’s B-day and they took great care of us! Wasn’t sure what to expect by reading reviews but we saw for ourselves. I made reservations for a room and ended up requesting a larger room the day before (last minute!) and they had the room I wanted booked. I opted for the largest room and when we got there they actually honored the rate of the first, smaller room I reserved. That was a great start to the evening for sure!We were looked after very well for the duration of the 4+ hours we were there. All of our questions about how to select songs were answered as soon as we got there, staff was friendly and we had absolutely no issue getting drinks and food. They popped in frequently to take orders and even took care of refilling water for me (designated driver ) and food was on point. Our mic batteries died and they replaced them immediately, so we were back in the game within a minute.Sound system in the VIP #1 room is BOOMING and for all the reviewers who complained that they could hear outside music from other rooms - they just didn’t turn up volume enough! We had no complaints from any other patrons there, smiles for miles in that place. It was pretty crowded, too. We had no issue with service at the full bar, but that’s what you expect when you show respect and be polite to those serving you (no brainer, right?!) great service.We cranked that system all night and ended up staying 2 1/2 hours longer than we had initially planned for - enough said. I went for my birthday on a Friday and we had a ball it was about 11 of us and everyone enjoyed their time food was good finger food is all you need and drinks I suggest getting an extra shot or 2 added in. The music selection is not the best so I couldn't give them a 5.  I do suggest searching by artist name makes it easier and you can see what songs they have available since they don't have a large collection of music.some old classics we couldn't even find. We came here as a group to celebrate my best friends birthday. This was such a cool idea! It was super fun taking turns singing karaoke to different songs that we each liked! There's a bar that  has drinks and simple foods (like chicken tenders and French fries) so that you can turn up and eat while having fun. We went on a Sunday evening and there was nobody else there in any of the other rooms. The 2 girls that worked there were really nice and helpful.The only thing I will say is that I wish they had more of a variety of hip hop and r&b songs, and some of the lyrics were off as we were trying to read along while singing some of the songs. This is a very unique place in gaithersburg ,MD. It's called the Irock Karaoke Lounge . It's off shady Grove Road . It has a full bar with great bartending staff . It also has a great menu with all varieties of foods you Like to have . The prices are reasonable and the food is good . Plus you have to have a fee for renting out the rooms for karaoke parties to invite friends or family for karaoke parties which you can sing all your favorite karaoke tunes you like . No there is No Dress Code . Yes you have to call for reservations . It's hidden in a shopping complex not that far once you get off Shady Grove Road . There is a neon sign outside near the road to point the way to it for anyone having a hard time trying to find the place and its a few blocks from wonder books store and other shopping places . So come on down to Irock Karaoke Lounge and have a singing good time and have the most unique experience you will not forget  . They look forward to seeing you all soon on your next adventure visit . This was a pleasant suprise. This isn't the best food but its a great place to have a little party. Good drinks, polite service and the private rooms are nicely set up and the music options are extensive - plenty if arrive at and cartibean if you are into it. We had a great time.

Probably the best local bar I've been too! We went for just drinks and to see what it was about but everyone inside seemed to having a great time! The karaoke had a lot of songs to choose from. Just went back to this karaoke place last week after couple years. Surprised to see the whole place has been rennovated. New drink menu looks pretty awesome at great prices, plus quite a list of food and snack on the menu after getting hungry from karaoke-off with friends. Seems like they also started running promotions at different nites, definitely nice to get more bang for your bucks. A couple more bar tables and chair would be better. I went to iRock with a couple of friends who had out of state IDs .They were both over 21 but since their IDs were horizontal, they were not served alcohol, even though their date of birth/age were listed on them. So if you are out of state and over 21, don't expect to be served any alcohol.

The place is really cool,the karaoke equipment is great. I didn’t get a private karaoke room though, I was singing at the karaoke located next to bar and the sound was way better than I expected (bonus points for the fact that the karaoke starts at 3pm).

This is a very nice karaoke lounge that is hidden behind a big building complex area, very difficult to find! My friends and I visit here often for birthday parties or group hangouts. The rooms are cozy and the music is loud! That's the best! I feel bad for the people who can hear us sing hahaha. But the little pad to play the songs is kind of difficult to use! But it's ok because eventually we find out. The vibe is nice and you can take cute pics against the backsplash of the rooms and the neon lights. More...
