About

In Bloom Photo is run by Jasmine Robinson, a UAlbany Graduate based on Long Island, NY. I travel back and forth between Long Island and the Capital region all the time; I-87 and I are good friends. I have had the honor and privilege to shoot several couples, pregnant mamas, comedians and even two different well behaved service dogs.

Jasmine was extremely helpful and knew exactly what to do when I went to her for help on my resume. It used to be so wordy and monotone that it lacked the element needed to stand out. Jasmine gave my resume the kick it needed to look presentable and way less wordy, which helped me score more interviews and even helped me get into grad school! Couldn't have done it without her! I highly recommend!! More...

Q&As

I like to think I can get a good read of someone in a short period of time.. It's a part of my business; knowing really who my client is, what makes them laugh or smile, or what can influence the right pose or that twinkle in their eye. A good photo has the composition just right, with a nice smile and a good light. A great photo has been taken when the photographer really knows the person they're shooting. The best photos I've ever taken were from me simply talking to my clients like friends, instead of subjects.

What poses or shots do you want that will make you want to look at these photos again 10 years from now? Do you have any insecurities about being photographed, or is there a part of you that you want accentuated in a shot? What pose will make you want to say, "That has to go on my instagram, immediately!"?

I love making people feel comfortable. I feel like my best self when I'm behind the camera and I want to do everything I can to make you feel what I do. I love getting the candid at the last second, when the light is just right. Getting a solid, spontaneous candid is one of my top 5 favorite feelings.

I wanted to be able to make money and also have fun. This started out as a hobby, as something I did for journalism classes and for internships. But when I realized people wanted to pay me for something that came so easily to me, it was a match made in heaven.

No one will work harder for a shot, edit for hours on end and cater to your needs than I will. I try my hardest with every shot, and give 150% of myself to the project, from our first contact until after you've received your photos.
