I'm not usually one to write reviews, but I make an exception for the majesty of King Carlos. Hybrid keeps their selection trim compared to other stores, with their store floor being as big as a large bedroom. However, Carlos the owner makes up for it by keeping a wide variety of hip classics and hidden treasures in stock. He is an expert collector of hardcore punk and emo, and the store's selection from those genres is incredible. The hip-hop and electronic sections have a wide variety of obscure 12"s. The rock selection on any given day can include everyone from Leonard Cohen to Godspeed You! Black Emperor to Faust to good old fashioned Bruce Springsteen. He has a separate and huge section of 7" singles from many different popular genres, and a few pricey rarities behind the counter. He also sells CDs, movies, books, and some stereo equipment. The customer service from Carlos, Tara, and Josh is excellent, and they always have good music playing off Pandora or used records from the store. Absolutely love this shop, stop by every time  I'm in town.  One of my favorite shops in Texas, Carlos always knows what he has which makes it an easier experience.

Super solid selection of music, and you can always snag a great find. It's not an overwhelmingly big store, so it's easy (and fun! !!) to browse thru the entire inventory. The owner knows his music very well, and will always be helpful and honest with you. There's also some movies, CDs, cassettes, books (I think?), and merch so there's almost no reason to leave without anything you're stoked about in hand. This store is all about supporting local businesses and engaging in the growth of the Corpus Christi community - one more reason to love this record store and shop there whenever you're in the need for some new tunes. I live in San Marcos, Texas for school and I frequent record stores often. This is hands down my favorite record store! I try to visit every time I come home to see my parents. Only problem I have is that I can't really catch it inside the shop where I work. Only in my truck I can catch a signal.
